Up until the punching, it was a real nice party.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Bwah! I missed this during the broadcast. Anyone else catch it?

What is even happening?

What's an alice band? The gallery comments which accompany the piece from the Guardian gave Natalie Portman Bonus points for showing that (a) grey can look fun and (b) that matching one's alice band to one's dress won't necessarily make you resemble a virginal Lady Di. [link]

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Headband, like Alice wears in Tenniel's illustrations.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hairband, I think, Cindy. Like this.

What is even happening?

Thank you, Robin and ita. I didn't notice her hair. I was trying to figure out the dress.

If I only had a brain...

I liked Natalie's dress in the abstract, but I was dubious about the color on her.

What is even happening?

I think I liked Cate Blanchett's. I usually see any yellow-based color with any red based color as screaming MCDONALD'S, but it was just the right color for her, which is a hard thing for the blond, and the cranberry belt made it pop. It's something I never would have put together (and couldn't wear the color combo, myself), but I liked it. I wish I'd seen her on screen.

Natalie's? I don't know. That dress needs boobage. I don't like the cut-to-the-waist dresses, but they need some boobage, not too much, but more than what Natalie's got. There were too many small breasted women in the strapless, sweetheart bodice. I think it's the fault of the cut of the dress, not the bodice, or the breasts. Maybe if it had come up a little higher? I don't know.

Salma made my usually least favorite color combination a complete winner. I think it was great with her coloring, and her make-up was just right.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hollywood needs major lessons in boobular containment. Most of those girls were flopping all over the place, and not in good ways.
