Thanks for the explanation, Kat.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Antonio's roots were coming through at the end. He started clapping a flamenco beat on his leg. Hee.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Beyonce's arrival dress is still the best she's worn.

She looked very elegant. Such a nice black dress makes up for the fact you can't wear hot pants to the Oscars.

Well, she could, but then the press would be all over the legs and the chandelier dresses, and not have anything nice to show and say. But now? "Oh, see? I can understand the chandelier, she's performing. But did you see her arrive? Stunning!"

le nubian, I had to look it up cause I'm barely conversant in English let alone Spanish.

Oh, John Stamos. Poor poor you.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

last time I complained about overacting in a Latino song (Marc Anthony), my sister rolled her eyes at my naivete.

Ah. Didn't know the conventions of the genre. Okay, never mind then.

But I will say, I liked his acting in the dream scene in Desperado. You know, the one where he walks down the bar with his guitar, knocks out a guy with it, and then nobody claps, and his imagined version of Bucho comes out and strikes a match off some guy's stubble, and...

oh, sorry. Filling time. You know, I'm not on board with this whole cut-down-to-the-waistline necklines. Ugly.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

See, now, I was just going to say that Stamos still looks pretty good.

It's just nice to see a childhood favorite hold up is all. Especially when your other one was Patrick Swayze.

Natalie, please return your mommy's dress to its hangar. Wear clothes that fit YOU, not clothes you are drowning in.

Hello shiny dress and big 70s hair!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is overacting an essential part of Latino singing?

It is in Marc Anthony's preferred genre. I don't have any idea if that's the same genre this is from, but I'm a lot more hesitant about pointing fingers now, because I just don't know enough.

Natalie Portman applauds them? Well then. That's just as good as winning something.
