And I wonder, what possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?

What is even happening?

Oh, Lennie.

The evil is this way?

You don't think that the actuaries killed Briscoe, do you?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I got Narrator to dance for us. Yay me!

Also, thanks.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah, I know. I can almost swear there are family members I won't miss that much. I probably know Lennie better than half of them, and we only saw half his life.

Art Crawl!!!

ita - did you see this week's Jack and Bobby? (I just watched the easy view.) I'm thinking that now that they've made it past the ethics committee -- they are doomed. They're going to break up and Grace's career will be done anyway. It's sad. Also, doesn't it seem odd that the President would be on the ethics committee ?

Ooh, an ad with "Goodbye Girl" on it.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Is there a copyeditor in the house?

Should "taser" be capitalized?

(I'm doing a resume for a police officer. Speaking of which, what's the difference between a rifle and a shotgun? My weapons expertise cuts out around 1815, so I'm only qualified to explain the difference between a rifle and a musket.)

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Lee, FWIW, I liked the first apartment you linked to in Burlingame better. All those windows along the wall just tickled me. I like LOTS of light, though, and some people don't.

Also, Burlingame has a nice little central shopping district with very charming diners and gift stores. Sort of trapped in the 50's Pleasantville look. It just has a slow feel of a small town to it, but you're in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Bay area.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Speaking of which, what's the difference between a rifle and a shotgun?

Rifles are rifled. That is, there's spiral grooves in the barrel to give the projectile a stabilizing spin. Shotguns don't have that. They fire either a slug or shot (basicly a bunch of BBs, good for knocking down birds).

eta: Rifles have good long-distance accuracy. Shotguns don't. Shotguns are good for, say, blowing a huge hole in someone's chest at close range.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Susan, from looking at their web site, it seems to be TASER. At the very least, Taser.

Sumi -- not yet. I have it recorded, and will watch stat.

Kat was saying that Burlingame was nice as well, SailAweigh. I will definitely have to add it to my list of places to look.
