Hey, if it means I don't have to read any more, woo and, might I add, a big hoo.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think she can definitely pull off androgyny, but I don't know that I'd ever mistake her for a man (as apparently happens to her with some regularity).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sure the mistaken-for-a-man thing has as much to do with height as anything else. I've been called "sir" by people in stores who just glanced at my jeans and docs, and had an impression of my size.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If I can get mistaken for a guy with any regularity, I'd think Tilda is a bit of a target.

Mostly I guess the problem for me is her voice -- they cast her in these roles where she's supposed to look in-between, and I can see it if I squint, but then she speaks, and... no. Girl, girl, girl.

Not that I mind, because she's very pretty. Even in bizarre white chaps.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

ita, that just takes me to the joy of cooking page. If you are cooking their lemon bars, though, yum. They have the best recipe I've found for the things.

Which is to say, we saw Constantine last night, and it wasn't that bad, despite the absurdity of Constantine having brown hair, wearing a black raincoat -- and being American.

But the list of all the desserts on the joy of baking site, right?

I'm not sure if I'll use their bar recipe. The Cook's Illustrated one is pretty good, and I'm not in an experimenting mood right yet.

I'm slowly going through my stuff, deciding what I either haven't used in a year or so¹, or haven't enjoyed using. Seems I like my stuff.

Waiting for the washers to free up....

So Devi finally caught the mouse.

Amazingly, I did not wake up with it lying on the pillow next to me this morning.

No, she used her other toy trick.

It was floating in her waterdish this morning.

I love having to fish out soggy dead mice at 7 am.

hip deep in pie

Sara, I'd rather a soggy mouse than as a sleeping companion.

It must be the time of year because the mice in my walls have been very active lately, and my cats are spending a lot of time staring at the ceiling. I've been trreading carefully every morning because I know it's only a matter of time until a mousy carcass appears.
