Surfas is SO COOL. Once ita goes, she'll be there every week from now on buying cool baking stuff. I'm not going to mention Lee, because of the whole "moving away and so can never go back there again even though she will love it" factor.

It seems so strange that something so basic, the Dutch process stuff, would be so hard to find. The brownie mixes I bought last night [bad brenda!] on sale for 99 cents say on the front that they're made with the stuff. It's been a long time since I bought cocoa - I don't use it that much so it lasts a while - but I wouldn't have imagined that it would be at all difficult to find. I'm beginning to think there must be a spell involved.
That traffic pattern site is really cool, ita. I think I would still need to be there in person to make sure, but it looks like the area the apartment is would be okay.
Where is Surfas?
Can't you fake Dutch process with "regular" cocoa plus baking soda or powder or something?
That site makes it very hard to find the address. Looks interesting though.
I'm not allowed to buy anything I would have to pack, so I am glad they have online ordering.
Oh, Christ. I'm screwed. There used to be a chef's supply place on my way home from work when I lived in Montreal.
I won't go until after I've moved. That's for sure.
I'm beginning to think there must be a spell involved.
This would not surprise me.
I just got TiVo ToGo! It could be like crack.
Here ya go. [link]
Thanks Robin!
Dutch process cocoa info: including both instructions for substituting regular for dutch, and a warning not to do so. Contradictory buggers.
