I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Word of warning - they've been promising to extend the blue line out to Lynn (or Salem) for DECADES now, and still nothing concrete is forthcoming (and then there's the North/South connector, and actually having the Silver line be, well a line, as opposed to buses), so I wouldn't expect anything too soon in the T expansion department.

Oh, I'm not holding my breath- I think prices in S-Ville will continue to climb anyway, but it would be awesome i there was even a semi-concrete plan to extend the green line. The mayor's being all a PITA about it, so you never know.

Salem is inconvient, but the commuter rail is only a half hour into North Station - I've had longer rides on the Red Line. I know there also used to be a commuter ferry, but I haven't noticed anything about in yonks, so it may be dead. The REAL bear about Salem is driving in or out of it. Just DAMNED inconvenient whichever way you come at it.

Salem would be very convinient for both of us, commuter-wise, I think. It's just a whole new community, even though not technically far away, and we need to sort of come to terms with that.

We are old and stuck in our ways. And where is the closest Trader Joe's to Salem anyway?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have Lush Mask of Magnaminty all over my face.

I think that may be the only skincare product of theirs I've never tried. (Except for some of the Fresh masks, which I can only buy if I'm heading straight home after Lush, which is not very often.)

If I only had a brain...

Aimee: I need (?) a bottle of Chaste Moon; let me know and I'll pay for shipping as well as the usual.

Jessica, did I mention that you inspired me to try the Eau de Rome? It's so lovely! And I thought of you, with your shortage of the Eau- I picked up a bottle in Boston and there was DUST on it! Hadn't been touched for days! Irony! Or... something.

Curse you, Boston Lush! Hogging all of my Eau Roma Water!

Actually, the NYC store got some back in stock yesterday. So I have to go by there after work.

They should open a store in my neighborhood in Brooklyn. Lush would do very well on Smith Street.

I'm getting the pig!

I just noticed that we have a brand spankin' new Lush store in Boulder. Downtown Denver would've made a helluva lot more sense, but I suppose I can deal with Boulder for ONE day.

Maybe even this weekend.

Always Anti-fascist!

I had a totally wacky 00's type experience this morning. About a week ago, I get this note from a guy that has a name that sounds like one of those names that, like, everyone might know somebody named this, that says "Oh, I'm cleaning out my e-mail." but rather than delete it, like somebody sane, I hold on, thinking "it'll come to me," but no, it hasn't. So I e-mail this man and say "I'm sorry, Larry. Where do I know you from?" Because I figure I must, because I don't put somebody in my address book till I do. He doesn't remember either. Who says you never get a second chance to make a first impression? (How old will I be before I stop trying to make a "How We Met" out of stuff like that?)

Mostly lurking...

Just talked with my creative writing prof and TA about the situation. My TA's response? "That's SO cool! You HAVE to write about that and get it published!"

Hee!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Mmmm, Lush. In Boulder, too. Even more excuse to go out and visit Nicole.

Timelies! I'm chipper. But, I'd probably be more chipper if the hospital hadn't called me at 8:30 to find out how I was feeling. Another half hour was all I really wanted. Ah, well. Such is life. If it hadn't of been them it would have been a telemarketer. At 9, I finally told the SBC Sales people to shove off when they called. You'd think that when someone ignores your calls for weeks straight, they'd get the clue you don't want to talk to them.

The mayor's being all a PITA about it, so you never know.

Well, he thought Ikea would be bad for Somerville, so what do you expect.

And where is the closest Trader Joe's to Salem anyway?

Vinnin Square - off of Route 1A - which is at the border of Salem and Swampscott. I'm farther away from it than I used to be, but it's still conveniently close by car. Now if only we could get a Whole Foods.
