Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

Where is everyone?! Ok...I realize it is only like 7:17am, but I'm chatty and there's no one to get chatty with. I suppose I could go wake up my dog, but he seemed all comfy in his bed and stuff.

Our wings are not tired.

Good morning vw! I woke up both of my boys already since I take Jr early on Fridays. Applaud my massive memory skills. I leave in 10 to car pool.

What's on your schedule today?

Go you, Laura! You'll never do that again :) I laughed so hard when I saw that.

I've got school today, but only two of my three classes. Then I head out to my parents' place to housesit for the weekend. Should be a nice, quiet weekend filled with lots of doing homework and playing with doggies.

Good morning, vw! I'm trying to get some work done before I go off to the flower show.

That sounds lovely. I'm going to parents this weekend too. Belatedly celebrating my birthday.

Is this the house where we spent 4th of July with you? That was so much fun. Your parents are wonderful.

Oooo...a flower show! That sounds nice. My SiL would love that. I should be doing some schoolwork, but I think I'll just do it all during my break today.

I got my friend J moved out yesterday. I'd like to say more, but I don't think I should in this forum. I just wouldn't put much past her husband at this point and don't want to give him anything he could use.

Yes, it is. And, yeah, that was lots of fun. My parents really are wonderful. I'm very lucky. The house is even nicer now, if that's possible...they've been painting, and it looks so lovely. Also, mom's been getting more things up on the walls. Since our last name is a season, she's decided that she can keep that season's decorations up all year-round, so she's got a "Winter Wall" upstairs. It's really beautiful and kinda cute of her.

As long as she doesn't feel the need to use actual snow....

The flower show is always beautiful, although it tends to give me grandiose visions of what my yard would look like if I had a lot more time, money and energy. The gardens are the best part, although there is fun to be had snarking at the very strange flower arrangements. There's some category of flower arrangement that produces arrangements made of a bicycle wheel, a shoe and a stem of bird of paradise.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I like staying in hotels that are close to home just for a night - esp if they are luxery hotels. mini vacation. have a nice dinner in the room with a good movie or a good book.

Me too! I ended up staying at a local hotel the night before our last conference, because the weather folks were forecasting this huge storm, and registration was in the hotel, so it just seemed like less stress to be there. Tom stayed too, and it was really a lot of fun. We ate at a local restaurant (we were actually in Emily and vw's neighborhood) and watched Lost in bed, and had a lovely time.
