Megan's list is my list, except that I don't avoid Sandra Bullock on principle. It's just that she make movies that always look like crap, so it more a quality assurance thing. I think I might add Ashley Judd to that list for the same reason.

Oh, add Jenna Elfman.

I'm with Steph on this... most of the other actors I dislike I can put up with for a good movie, but I've passed up seeing Morgan Freeman as God to avoid Carrey. And my Gibson hatred has grown so strong I'm tempted to roll people outside the box office to prevent him from getting their money.

Who else do I hate? Michael Caine skeeves me for some reason I've never figured out.

Yeah, eliminating Michael Caine movies threatens to restrict you to foreign language films and porn.

Hm...most of the actors I actively hate seem to have a nasty habit of appearing in films I otherwise want to see, and so I have trouble avoiding them. (See exhibit A: Renee Zellweger.)

How about the classic Hanks/Ryan film, Joe versus the Volcano ? I love that one.

I do tend to avoid Jim Carrey and Tom Cruise.

I liked the Lethal Weapon movies, back before Mel's ego required three semi-trucks and a back-hoe to transport.

I mean, he's just not that great of an actor, IMO. And he really needs to stop attempting Southern accents, because his versions grate on my ears.

And if we're talking Costner, I can't believe no one has brought up Bull Durham. I don't know if it's the role, the direction, or what, but it's really remarkable how in just that one movie, an actor who normally does nothing for me manages to be as sexy as all the many foamy male ME actors, Ichiro Suzuki, and Sean Bean as anything other than Sharpe combined.

I really need to watch Bull Durham again. It's that time of year.

Exception that proves the rule? I know Hec keeps saying that Costner gets a "life pass" for Bull Durham, and I'll grant that as long as "life pass" means "I'll allow him to continue living" and not some kind of snark-exemption. I've never quite been clear on that.
