Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm kinda glad someone hates Sandra Bullock.

I don't. I love her. But part of me is ashamed of that, and that part feels validated by Megan's post.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I honestly can't say I've ever seen a movie where it's made any different whether or not Sandra Bullock was in the role. Decent actor, pretty, but not worth seeking out or avoiding.

I have a hard time imagining someone else in Miss Congeniality, mainly because I think she has a gift for cleaning up well.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

There aren't any actors that woud absolutely make me not see a movie, though there are several that make me think "ugh, not him/her again." Mel Gibson and Michael Douglas probably come closest, though I liked the Lethal weapon movies and Wonder Boys.

hip deep in pie

Tom Cruise
Michael Douglas
Sandra Bullock
Julia Roberts
John Travolta
Jim Carrey (his "comedic" roles)

Megan's list is my list, except that I don't avoid Sandra Bullock on principle. It's just that she make movies that always look like crap, so it more a quality assurance thing. I think I might add Ashley Judd to that list for the same reason.

Oh, add Jenna Elfman.

I'm sure there's more. I have a lot of hate to share. :)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I only have 2, but they're inviolable -- Jim Carrey and Mel Gibson.

I'm with Steph on this... most of the other actors I dislike I can put up with for a good movie, but I've passed up seeing Morgan Freeman as God to avoid Carrey. And my Gibson hatred has grown so strong I'm tempted to roll people outside the box office to prevent him from getting their money.

Who else do I hate? Michael Caine skeeves me for some reason I've never figured out.

Jeez. It's a wonder I ever see any movies at all.

Yeah, eliminating Michael Caine movies threatens to restrict you to foreign language films and porn.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hm...most of the actors I actively hate seem to have a nasty habit of appearing in films I otherwise want to see, and so I have trouble avoiding them. (See exhibit A: Renee Zellweger.)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

How about the classic Hanks/Ryan film, Joe versus the Volcano ? I love that one.

I do tend to avoid Jim Carrey and Tom Cruise.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I liked the Lethal Weapon movies, back before Mel's ego required three semi-trucks and a back-hoe to transport.

I'm trying to think of a female actor who annoys me as much as Sylvester Stallone. No one's coming to mind. There are directors who will never see my money again -- Oliver Stone leaps to mind.

What's your opinion of Joey Lauren Adams?
