I found a "Sparking Pinwheel" that resembles the sort of toy I remember that matches JZ's description, but the only picture is on a cached Google page: [link]
I
think
it is still available from the company--use their Quick Search for "Sparking Pinwheel"-- but there is no picture on that page.
Catching up from yestersay.
This may be my new favorite word. What you said yesterday = yestersay.
Any New Yorkers hear me on the radio this morning? Actually it would've been about 11:40 East Coast time.
Like a sucker, I missed it. Because even though I was able to label my bookmark, it did not call to remind me to listen. ITA!!!!
My mom's wedding dress was an a-line long sleeved dress that ended about 4 inches above her knees. Had a little standup mock turtleneck collar.
That sounds like my mother's dress, sara! Also in 1967. But no farmhouse.
Anyone in NYC watching the news right now? It looks like a Hellmouth just opened up in Astoria.
Huh, whuh? Where? I guess I'll find out in 10 minutes.
Huh. I was taught that "Que?" was impolite and you should say "Como?" Was that nonsense?
Like other people said, I think it's like the difference between "What?" and "Excuse me?" My Spanish class senior year in high school had a bunch of kids who had learned Spanish at home, but had bad/sloppy grammar, like people do. I think that class was harder on them than on me, because they kept insisting they were right.
Like a sucker, I missed it.
Email from Bob (my interviewer this morning):

Hi DAvid: Thank you for a wonderful interview today,
and I forgot to mention that my entire show with your
interview will be broadcast on the internet twice
daily at 7pm and 10am (eastern time) for one entire
week at:
Live365 or you can
link from the show's site Sounds of Blue.
My show is 4 hours long so figure your interview
starts about 2 and a half hours prior to the 7pm and
10am start times at live365.com.
Thanks again!

Not that I think it was such a stellar interview, but in case you were interested.
Not delivered by pizzawhores, I'm afraid.
Silly Hec. There are no pizzawhores. Only Zool baconwhores.
And the occasional tartletwhore.
Am watching Eliza Dushku on That 70s Show. She is so fucking hot. I mean, GUH. Even with 70s hair.
She is so fucking hot.
Do you really mean it?
I mean, GUH.
I see.
Even with 70s hair.
Wouldn't that just be her regular hair flipped back with a curling iron?
Hmmm, she and Aly have both guested on That 70s Show. Which, by rights, should be that 90s show, by now, no?

When by "prior" he mean "after," right?
Also, the water main break turns out to be really really far away from my house, even though they are calling it the same neighborhood. I mean, like three miles away.
Edit: OK, so the local NBC station called it Astoria. NY1 (the local all-news channel) says East Elmhurst. That makes way more sense.
Even with 70s hair.
Wouldn't that just be her regular hair flipped back with a curling iron?
That's still an affront to hair.
Do you really mean it?
Don't toy with me, mister. She's hot and I haven't had sex in a thousand years, so GUH.
Tonight is the third night in a row I have had Valentines chocolate for dinner.
That's right, I have a bon bon problem.
Anyway, Project Runway was adorable and hysterical tonight and my Jay-love continues apace. Also The Daily Show is very much worth catching tonight for the
Tim Hitler
bit alone.

Is there a new food pyramid out that I'm unaware of?
Emmett's sniggering out loud while reading a Calvin and Hobbes collection. I'm totally chuffed that I have sucessfully brainwashed him into liking stuff that I like. Okay, actually he got into Roald Dahl and The Marx Brothers on his own. But I like those too so it's good.
