I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Dear Schummer and Clinton - phhbbbbbbtttt!

I second that.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Which reminds me - I've been meaning to write Obama about all this Social Security nonsense that the administration's been spewing. I've never written a congressperson before? Any advice? I figure a nice snailmail letter is the best....

Nope. Email all the way, baybee. Snailmail gets hung up for at least a month because of security procedures. Anytime I need to send something to the Hill, I use FedEx or a courier if I can't email it.

As far as stylistic advice, be concise. Identify yourself as a constituent right away or your email won't even be read by an intern. Use facts to back up your assertations, and you'll be looked upon as the intelligent man you are, which will facilitate a response to your concerns.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Mark Dayton, D-Minn.

That's my boy.

Hmmm.

Sen. Coleman is being positioned to take a shot at the Repub nom in 2012 or so, provided the Bushes don't make their dynastic goal. I wonder if Dayton is pushing for the Dem nom?

I thought faxing was considered the best option, because emails tend to get ignored.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I had also heard that emails tended to be ignored, but this was several years ago (before all that anthrax stuff).

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Shame on Sens. Murray and Cantwell! Cantwell doesn't surprise me. But I expect a bit more principle from Murray.

Eh, I've always gotten a snail mail response from email to my congresscritters. Someone had to read (or program heh) enough keywords to figure out which topic I was addressing and whether I was agreeing or disagreeing with their stance.

On a completely unrelated topid, this looks incredibly silly:

In brief, the race is a demented homage to the Alaskan Iditarod . But here, humans are substituted for dogs, shopping carts for sleds, and beer for all other liquids
