Why are you in places with appreciable winters, then?

If you only know how many times a day I ask myself this.

Sue? I really hate to break this to you, but you live in Canadia! It's going to be cold for some time there. Sorry.

Sobs.

Vancouver is starting to look pretty good.

Because I got this job before I discovered I hate winter with a great big hate?

I know here really isn't that bad, all things considered.

However, I'm not moving farther north ever. And I'm not kidding. It'd have to be a dream job that pays me an insane amount of money and allows me to be absent during winter.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Crap, amych, you're right. I'm not a rodent at all. OK, I take it all back.

Though I gotta admit that my first winter in NC, winter ended in mid-February when the temps got up to (and stayed at) 80.

Hey, I said northern!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

A teacher where I worked was convicted of pedophilia--which had stretched over many years with many boys. A lot of parents refused to believe it, because he was A) Married with a kid, B) from a good family and a prize-winning teacher, and C)they would then have to admit they trusted their children to a Bad Man and that made them Bad Parents and that couldn't be.

I totally beieve MJ could sleep with kids after all this went down. The pedophile I worked with still claimed (after his conviction) to me in a phone call (I was his daughter's advisor) that people over-reacted and that no kids got hurt and that the boys enjoyed "pushing boundaries." I think he truly believed what he was saying.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Poor llama, out of the spotlight, and for a rental.

Groundhog emeritus, hah! I think I'm going to have that printed on business cards.

lisah, that kicks ASS. Go you guys!

Now I need to have lunch. I would like pizza. I should eat an apple with peanut butter. Hmmmm.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm very excited about it. The City Paper is known for being kind of mean sometimes so I was pretty worried about what would actually come out. A few of my quotes are a little mangled and she misquoted some lyrics (and I look a little dorky in the photo in the print edition) but aside from that we are VERY pleased. Even though we love our little record we were not expecting to get this much attention at all.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A teacher where I grew up was acquitted of pedophilia and I testified in his defense. Of course, his life was all but ruined and he never got to coach again.

He'd preferred coaching girls, he felt they were by and large more dedicated athletes and not in it to impress people half as much as the boys. Boy did THAT sound perverted once the allegations went down.

Hundreds of parents and students backed him up and it had nothing to do with denial. It was because they trusted him and wanted to show their support. If he'd had a theme park at his house we'd have all gone over.

Woohoo lisah! That's awesome.

I'm hoping to come if I don't have an attack of Avoiding the Humans.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hundreds of parents and students backed him up and it had nothing to do with denial.

What bearing does this have on Michael Jackson's innocence? On anyone's innocence?

Of course innocent people are accused of crimes. As are guilty. I don't see your train of thought ...
