What is even happening?
It looks like, back in October they canceled another event they call a "Nano Event" that was supposed to be for either the weekend before or the weekend after this Flanvention. They were going to book Gina Torres for it. They only sold 35 tickets, and so didn't have enough, but they didn't cop to the problem 'til they were ready to cancel, and fans from the UK had booked flights over for that, too. ** [link] ** It looks like some of them were waiting for Flanvention tickets, and switching their flights.
judging by their website, it looks they cancelled the Backup thing after being told the Con would definitely be on. Ugh.You can see them cancel it at Whedonesque, too. [link] (it's the comment by lexigeek, on 12/2 who runs Black Market Beagles).

As far as I know from the bronzers helygen and Leish ( Who has flown in from Australia!) are in LA right now. Allyson if you happen to get the chance to punch them, punch them for me, too. Also I second tiggy´s sigh. Too bad we can´t resurrect them. Though I read somewhere that the were plans for a 10th anniversary PBP ... what happend with that?
