All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Gigi was a very fetching Mal.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Farscape already did that episode.
So did SG-1.

If I only had a brain...

It's called "the body-swap episode". It's a genre classic. Everybody has to do it at least once.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

By that logic, Farscape did it twice. Once with actual "Actor A plays Character B while still looking like A" and then again with "Actor A plays Character B in full costume and make-up of B, which is actually pretty freaky looking."

The former? Funny. The latter? Uncanny valley material. Like recognizing someone, until you get up close and realizing you don't know that person at all.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I loved the X-Files episode "Small Potatoes" but that wasn't an actual swap, so I suppose it doesn't count. I'm trying to think of one that truly blew me away, but I can't at the moment.

Visilurking

Although not technically a body swap, I still smile thinking about the "Kenny Rogers Roasters" Seinfeld episode.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

"Dreamland" was the actual body-swap episode for the X-Files. It's how Mulder got his waterbed!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

By that logic, Farscape did it twice.

Or three times if you count two sets of switches in one episode.

Plus the "Won't Get Fooled Again/John Quixote" type episodes where you've got characters showing up as someone completely new.
