It's because you didn't have a strong father figure isn't it?

Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

All is well that ends in pizza.

From Wired: Man who stopped watching TV five years ago, and now is catching up:

I also hear that there's something called Firefly, which is either a canceled science-fiction television show or a new religion, I'm not clear on that. Either way, prayers for the resurrection are involved.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

2) Nathan is busy making movies, but since I don't want new cast members, everybody in the cast would just move over one. Jewel (she's back!) would play Mal, Ron would play Kaylee, Morena would play Book, and so on.

This I kinda want to see.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Jewel (she's back!) would play Mal, Ron would play Kaylee, Morena would play Book, and so on.

Farscape already did that episode.

I can't even.

Farscape already did that episode.

Of Firefly? Damn, people keep telling me that show was ahead of its time, and do I believe them?

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Gigi was a very fetching Mal.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Farscape already did that episode.
So did SG-1.

If I only had a brain...

It's called "the body-swap episode". It's a genre classic. Everybody has to do it at least once.

Nutty - Feb 16, 2006 6:06:27 pm PST #7942 of 10001
"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

By that logic, Farscape did it twice. Once with actual "Actor A plays Character B while still looking like A" and then again with "Actor A plays Character B in full costume and make-up of B, which is actually pretty freaky looking."

The former? Funny. The latter? Uncanny valley material. Like recognizing someone, until you get up close and realizing you don't know that person at all.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.
