We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

A One that isn't cold, is scarcely A One at all.

Wow seems I'm behind in my Browncoat news. Why do people have to do this? I'm just a big a fan as the next guy but whatever happened to good old fashioned fanfic? If you want to keep the universe alive put into it. Write stories, draw comics, make fanfilms and share them with other fans. "If you can't do something smart, do something right." (well in this case that might ought to be in the reverse)

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Here's the nutshell of the wankiness of which we speak:

There's this dude who claims to be trying to secure the rights to Firefly.

His previous business venture is a Costa Rican "dating" site filled with pics of bikini clad tarts who know how to appreciate men.

The dude called Chris Buchanan and tried to hire him away from Zoic, but Chris turned him down.

He's waiting to hear back from Joss' agent about whether Joss will be available to write and direct the Season Two Firefly pilot.

Also, according to his plan, Tim will be available in May, so he can hire Tim to work on the show as well.

Hm. I think that's it.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I think some dude has forgotten to take his medication.

I really hope fans are not sending this guy actual money. Cause that would suck.

No money.

He's just crazy.

I think he's using the Costa Rican matchmaking service to finance Season Two. I suspect we'll see some serious product placement. I wonder if they can WB Dude to do one of those spots at the end of each episode:

The whores featured in tonight's episode of Firefly...

What is even happening?

Okay, I was refraining, but my feet hurt and all my reserves are currently tied up in self-pity. Where is this wanky conversation?

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

There's this dude who claims to be trying to secure the rights to Firefly.

Hee.

Hee.

I can see that I'm going to be chuckling about this all afternoon. More power to him, and all that, but.... hee, hee.

eta: Thanks for sharing!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Wow. I think that even beats the guy who tried to convince Save Farscape that he worked for Senator McCain and could get federal legislation passed on our behalf. Or at least federal dollars.

No, I kid you not. I ended up calling McCain's home office and telling them about it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Titan Books, which previously published Serenity: The Official Visual Companion to the SF movie, announced that it has bought the rights to publish a companion book to Joss Whedon's cult television series Firefly, on which Serenity was based.

Firefly: The Official Companion is scheduled for publication this summer.
