I would have hated Mal's guts if that scene had been left as it was.
I wondered if you were talking about what I thought you might be talking about. And you were.
I love it, personally. Micole mentioned it in one of her LJ posts about the movie, and it made sense, because otherwise, why would they have Book's body with them at the end to bury?
ETA: Unless it's a joke, actually. I can't really tell from the gag reel.
