Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Yeah, it would be like killing Buffy. Oh, um, well, nevermind.

That first NF pic reminds me far too much of stoner buddies of the early 90s

Good lord, yes. Same here.

Punishingly Intricate

It'd have been like the poor kid in The Princess Bride with the whole "You mean she dies? Jesus, Joss! What did you make me watch this thing for?"

Oh that reminds me (and forgive me if somebody posted this already) my coworker (new convert after seeing the movie) sent me this the other day. (I didn't think it was the funniest thing ever but somebody here might get a kick out of it)

Kid: Who gets the Operative?!

Grandfather: I don't understand?

Kid: [annoyed] Who kills the Operative? At the end, someone's got to do it! Is it River? Who?!

Grandfather: Nobody. Nobody kills him. He lives.

Kid: You mean he wins? Jesus, Grandpa! What did you read me this thing for?

Grandfather: You know, you...you've been very sick and you're taking this story very seriously. I think we'd better stop now.

Kid: No. I...I'm okay. I'm okay. Sit down. I'm alright.

Grandfather: Okay. Alright, now lets see...where were we? Oh, yes, Miranda...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Princess Bride applies to a lot. Consider, for instance:

THE VIEWER: CLOSEUP

THE VIEWER
Who gets Doc?

JOSS WHEDON
I don't understand.

THE VIEWER
Who kills Doc? At the end, somebody's got to do it. Is it Spike? Who?

JOSS WHEDON
Nobody. Nobody kills him. He lives.

THE VIEWER
You mean he wins? Jesus, Joss! What did you read me this thing for?

THE VIEWER desperately fights for control.
JOSS WHEDON
You know, it's been five seasons and you're taking this story very seriously. I think we better stop now.

(starts standing up)

THE VIEWER
No! I'm okay. I'm okay.
(gestures toward the chair)
-- keep filming. All right?

What is even happening?

Cindy, I hashed these out, and then got distracted. Feel free to take, ignore, correct, at your leisure.

ita, I LOVE them. Thank you so much. I've already deleted my old User Pics and added all three. I named the "My Master" shot "Master Joss Bator"--just cuz.

Huh. So it turns out my friend David made The Dress*, and all the other costumes in the movie.

(*I swore someone linked to a picture of it in this thread, but I can't, for the life of me, find it. But you all know the dress I'm talking about...)

Sweetie, would you please ask him what fabric was used for The Dress? It would make a couple of seamstresses I know very happy.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

What The Dress?

I will ask him, though I suspect they will be unhappy with the answer.

Costumes made for film and TV are typically not very good clothes. Partially because they are only assembled as much as needed (leaving inside seams undone, and such that contributes to short clothing lifespans), and partially because the fabrics that look amazing on film are typically not used for normal clothing because they are either too flimsy to stand up to normal use, or nasty sythetic fibers that don't feel good to the skin, and don't breathe well.

What The Dress?

The Dress that Zoe was wearing at the end, for the funeral.
