Oh, my gosh, I didn't even think about the possibility that it might be sold out! Gah... maybe I should buy tickets from Fandango now.

Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.
Eek, I hope that doesn't happen here. I've roped 10 people into going with me tomorrow night at 9:30. (I'm also seeing it at 3:45. *cough*) I got my ticket and one for someone else because they're coming from NYC and don't know when they'll arrive, and I know at least one other person in my group got an advance ticket, but that would be awful if the others got shut out of the same screening. It's still up on MovieTickets.com, so it looks good for now.
I'm worried that all of the theaters local to me may not be showing it. So far, Serenity isn't listed at the three closest theaters. One theater mentions it as coming soon this Friday on their phone recording, but I guess I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to know for sure. Or, I could, you know, speak to a human there.
If all else fails, Fandango shows a theater an hour from me running Serenity tomorrow, so at least I have hope.
Edit: Dammit, the human at the theater says they're not going to show Serenity tomorrow. Just wait till Monday when the numbers come in, they'll be sorry. Well, at least the theater an hour away is most definitely showing my movie.
Stupid rural area... ::grumbles::
I can't believe it starts tomorrow. In Juneau! I'm taking the day off work (I feel so decadent), and we're having a small shindig at a friends house (7-20 people). I wasn't sure what to serve, but have decided on Chinese appetizers and cut up apples (with one not cut up with a knife sticking out of it for a centerpiece). I would do strawberries, but I don't think I can get fresh right now.
As soon as I leave here, I'm off to buy tickets, having been scared by these sold-out tales. Unfortunately, I must walk through the pouring wind and rain to get these tickets, since my local theater doesn't participate in any online service. This just shows what a loyal (and loony) fan I am, though. Right?
I'm buying my tickets first thing tomorrow (cough payday) morning.
Serenity's up to 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I don't know if y'all were paying attention to the Bureaucracy discussion, but as of September 30th (board time, shall we say), ALL SERENITY DISCUSSIONS ARE BLACKFONT AND IN THIS THREAD.
FYI.
Whoot! Just chatting on lj with a friend - I stay with her for a few months when I first moved to Chicago, and when I moved out I accidentally left my Firefly DVDs behind. She sat down and watched one, and then got totally hooked and zoomed through the rest, and she's all fired up for the movie. Accidental toaster, you are mine!
Salon review of Serenity. Spoilery when you get to the middle of page 2. (eta: and as Sean K points out, And continues to be spoilery for a couple of paragraphs after that. Yeah, I shoulda made that more clear.)
Joss Whedon's feature-film debut, the science-fiction western "Serenity," is beautifully made, written with more wit and intelligence than we get from most contemporary movies of any genre, and features an ensemble of actors whose rhythms are almost supernaturally in tune. There's only one problem with "Serenity": It's not "Firefly," the TV show that first gave these characters, and this story, life in autumn 2002 on the Fox network.
