I read the Firefly OB all the time and it seems Rosie is really passionate about doing a party, and I'd not stomp on her to take it, she's a sweetpea and seems to be in love with the idea.
Kristen and I got a lot of shit thrown in our direction for "abandoning the fandom" and so if my name on something causes a single fan to think twice about coming to Hollywood to party it up, I'll of course step back.
Not all about me.
Besides, Sail says I need to wear a headset.
Yes, indeed. ita's on my desktop at work, right now. Of course, so is Harold Perrineau, but...ita!

If I didn't already have plans for late September, I'd be there in a heartbeat if it was
your
party. Someone else, I wouldn't be so sure of.
Well, we're fans, which means we love our shows with passion, and sometimes we get over-invested in them and get obsessive about them. I'd like to think that we can take valid criticism of our beloved shows, or the fact that there are people whom we like and respect, who may just not be into the same things that we do. I know *I* sometimes take it way too personally when others express dislike toward the things I love; I had to take some deep breath and walk away from the board for a bit a few weeks ago, when Allyson said she couldn't watch Veronica Mars because it did nothing for her--and it was this irrational response, like someone kicked my puppy or something, when in fact, Allyson was just simply saying the show didn't work for her. I'd dare say she felt similar when tavella was doubting The Inside would get off the ground.
Being Buffistas, hopefully we can love the shows we love without losing critical faculty, or with unrealistic expectation that everyone would love the things that we love.
Well, I had the point there somewhere, about understanding where both sides are coming from, but I seem to have lost it.
I should have been more specific in my asinine aside. I should have said, "Does this mean there will be no Allyson, Kristen et al produced Serenity party with Hottie security guards in headsets that I will want to come down for, since I know it will be good, and have hottie security guards and other people I know?"
Okay, just so we're clear here, there isn't gonna be a Twoo Wuv test in this thread, right? 'Cause I fucking hate the taste of Grape Kool-Aid.
Well, just a comment - this is the Firefly/Serenity Worship thread, yes?
No. We don't do worship, period. You should have seen the abuse "Spiral" got over in the Buffy thread. Some of us hate particular ME and ME-derived shows, and such people have always been welcome in the appropriate threads.
My assumption is that you're prepared to defend your opinons with reference to fact. That's it.
I should have been more specific in my asinine aside.
You weren't being asinine.
You were being inane.
Whole different vibe.
Allyson was just simply saying the show didn't work for her. I'd dare say she felt similar when tavella was doubting The Inside would get off the ground.
Oh yeah. I wanted to go through the screen, not so much about The Inside, but the speculation on why Fury left LOST. It felt oddly personal and I was like, "dude, you're treating my friend like he's a fictional character whose motives you can speculate upon like he doesn't exist as a person."
