Yes, and with a little tweaking, it's useful a good five years before that, in many situations. Examples:

Why don't we ever have any money?
We used to have money, but we spent it all on you.

Why do you like to sleep so much?
We used to have energy, but you SUCKED it all out of us.

That's what I'm hoping. When I was laid off from my last job due to downsizing I was devastated because it was the first time that had ever happened to me in my life. After I was in my current job about a week I was so much happier. I was reminded of a quote from (don't laugh) Maid in Manhattan when the butler says to J.Lo "Sometimes we're forced in directions we ought to have found ourselves."

I always remember this when bad or difficult things are happening. I might have to endure some pain now, but that pain won't last forever and sometimes things will work out better than expected.

Connie, I started feeling the cold worse and worse each winter starting at about age 30. The same thing happened to my dad. It might just be an age/metabolism thing.

I have taken the money I owe on taxes out of my checking account and put it into my savings account. Maybe it can earn me a dollar or two before I have to fork it over to the feds.

It's actually quite fascinating, and I'm enjoying it (in the best way you can enjoy a really depressing book)...although, I'm not sure what that says about me. I'm worried, though, as the prof said it will just continue to get darker through the end of the book. So, maybe it's gonna get even harder to read.

My step-grandma was a missionary in the Appalachian Mountains, so I've heard similar stories from her. I guess that's helped to soften the blow, or something.

I'm glad I didn't have to read it a month ago, though. I'm not sure I would have made it through.

ION, apparently our landlords are claiming to live in our apartment for the purpose of getting a visitor's parking permit. Only one is allowed per residence, so I had to go through a shitload of extra paperwork this morning in order to prove to the City of Cambridge that they do not live here...they just own the building...therefore, I am entitled to a visitor's parking permit.

It was a big mess. I hope they end up getting a ticket 'cause their permit is found to be invalid.

Yes. I am mean like that.
