These were mostly taken this morning, when we were only half done, but the two of the finished living room make me so so happy. There used to be a lovely rich brown in the living room, and a gorgeous brick red in the kitchen, and kind of a weird greenish khaki serving as the trim in both rooms. So what we did was cover the khaki with red in the living room and brown in the kitchen, getting rid of the ugly color and tying the apartment together in one fell swoop!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Jess, those colors are AMAZING!! Excellent work. I hate painting. Not as much as DH, which is why part of my front hall is STILL half-painted a few months after we started.
It looks great, Jess. You've got a lot of nice architectural detail.
I hate painting. My hall and one bedroom need painting, and I've been waiting for the paint fairy for some years now. I painted the den, with all the bookshelves, three years ago and I'm still resting.

Heh. I tell everyone I'm waiting for my muse.
I can't stand white walls and I've been living with them for four years in our current place. We had a good headstart with this place, since most of the kitchen and living room had been painted already, and the other two rooms are pretty small (and don't have any complicated corners -- all of the nifty little architectural touches are in the kitchen and living room).
It's sooooooo pretty.
Jess, I love the colors! And the kitchen ceiling is gorgeous!
LOVE the colors, Jess. Yay new place!

Oooh, nice. And on sale. It's not the actual painting that bothers me--it's the prep. And the clean up. *shudder* All that taping and draping.
Hello again! The party was successful. Aidan got toys he liked and everyone had cake, and we forgot the sorbet in the freezer, so we're eating it now.
Instead of making my own shortcake, I cheated and bought a chocolate marble pound cake from the grocery store. It was amazingly good. I topped it with Kool Whip (for the lack of lactose) and sliced strawberries. Aidan thought blowing out the #2 candle was pretty awesome, and said, "YAY AIDAN!" when we all clapped for him.
Thanks for all the happy birthdays. He's quite bewildered by them, but I'm having fun popping up at him with happy birthday wishes. I love how he blinks when he's startled.
