She growls?! You made her so she growls?!

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey. New board.

Nova, how was the showl?

Oh! It was really cute. Mostly a revue of songs from the perspective of different types of dogs, I think that anybody who finds dog behavior natively entertaining would enjoy the musical.

It was fun, too, because it's in a tiny, 50-person theater in West Hollywood, so the audience is right on top of the actors, who are excellent at evoking dogginess. The costumes and sets are ridiculously low budget, but they work quite well.

Anybody that likes musicals in the L.A. area should consider checking it out before they close on the sixteenth. Info here.

What is even happening?

Happy Birthday plus one, to Aidan. I wish I could eat Strawberry Shortcake with you, Spikelet.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I just turned on PBS and there's a really surreal show about crafts with children. First, they were sticking gumdrops onto styrofoam balls with toothpicks. They didn't say why. Then they were making pomanders and one of them said, "They're preserved just like the Egyptians preserved mummies." The hosts are cheerful in a way that I usually associate with amphetamines.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Happy Belated Birthday to Aidan! Give him a kiss for me.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Not sure if this is serious:

Are cats for true Christians?

Is it appropriate for a Christian to own a cat, in light of their past pagan religious affiliation and the medical information that is now coming to light? -J.R., U.S.A.

Medical information?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Bible does not say that cats were not present at Herod's birthday party when John the Baptist was beheaded. History shows that cats were most likely present at this tragic party that Jehovah did not approve of.

WTF²?!?

eta: it's gotta be a joke.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It looks like it might be serious. However, it seems like an extreme sect of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Watchtower doesn't appear to have anything against cats in general. And seems to tell followers to take their responsibility as pet owners pretty seriously.

And I have two words for the chapter & verse spouting idiot who wrote that: Black Death. Kill the cats and you get what you ask for, Buddy.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

New apartment pictures!

These were mostly taken this morning, when we were only half done, but the two of the finished living room make me so so happy. There used to be a lovely rich brown in the living room, and a gorgeous brick red in the kitchen, and kind of a weird greenish khaki serving as the trim in both rooms. So what we did was cover the khaki with red in the living room and brown in the kitchen, getting rid of the ugly color and tying the apartment together in one fell swoop!

Jess, those colors are AMAZING!! Excellent work. I hate painting. Not as much as DH, which is why part of my front hall is STILL half-painted a few months after we started.
