Ah, the pitter patter of tiny feet in huge combat boots. Shut up!

So, I was in London. And New York. And Miami. And DC. And North Carolina. And I was going to threadsuck and catch up, but I got about 1000 posts, and read about half of them, and then there were another 1000 posts I hadn't even threadsucked. So, um, I give up.

What happened in the last two weeks, eh?

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

Just thinking about that sound makes my teeth hurt.

I'm so glad there's someone else in the world who feels unpleasant noises in their teeth. When I try to explain the sensation to non-teeth-feeling people, they look at me funny.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My teeth are freaky-sensitive. I don't know if it's the nerves or what but it makes dental work HELL. I get the shots and everything is numb, but as soon as the sound of the drill starts, I'm stiff as a board in the chair and I jump. My dentist usually asks if I want another shot. He could shoot me up until I drool and I'll still feel the sound in my teeth.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Damn it. I just got an email that someone just rented one of the apartments I was interested in. (I'd emailed about it, and the person responded that she was having an open house on Monday for anyone who was interested.) Sunday is the open house for that one that had 70 responses. There's also an open house tomorrow for another one that looked interesting -- good neighborhood, but not as nice a commute.

Apartment-hunting is insane.

Our wings are not tired

I feel your apartment hunting pain. I was really stressing about it when I was looking, but amazingly it all worked out amazingly well!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Are you home, Meara?

And, um, stuff happened. Most of it was in Beep Me and Apocalypse. There were some very cute Owen and Annabel pictures and pictures from the Miracleborns' trip to Michigan.

I'm sorry, Meara. That wasn't much of a meara.

Heh. Yes, I'm home. Until Tuesday morning. Then I'm in NYC for a week. THEN I'm finally home for a little bit.

Wow. Jetset meara! That is too much travelling for me. Just thinking about it makes me tired.

Someone tell me to get off the computer and go upstairs. My feet are like blocks of ice down here.

Owen and Christopher are already asleep. I could go up and watch Numb3rs or I could read wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa with a warm cat.

Yikes. I was just going over to the Washington City Paper website to check the price on the apartment I'm looking at tomorrow (that's where I found the ad), and the main story in the paper is about the neighborhood where this apartment is, including many people complaining about giant rats. (Yes, there are also people complaining about crime. The giant rats scare me more.) (And this apartment is kind of more Adams Morgan than Columbia Heights, but I'm not sure where the actual boundary lines are, and I doubt the giant rats do, either.) (And now I've gotten myself sitting crosslegged on my chair, and kind of shuddering, from typing "giant rats" way too many times.)
