Oh, vw bug, I am so sorry.
...
It feels totally inappropriate to post the rest of my post, but I'm in a hurry, because we have ice damns (yes, I spelled it that way on purpose, because reeeeeally...) and a leaky roof, and I think handy!b-i-l (whose number I just saw on the caller id) is probably on his way over, and I have to get out of my PJs. So yeah, anyhow...
All I can say now is:
Well STACK MY CATS and call me Cindy!!!
This made me laugh and laugh and larf, and I *really* needed that. Thanks, Frank. (Got to level 18 yesterday, by the by).
I'm sorry, vw. That's no way to begin a Saturday. {{bug hug}}
This made me laugh and laugh and larf
It made me laugh too. I'm glad you posted that. Sorry about the leaky roof! That sucks!
Thank you for the hugs and thoughts. I didn't know her well, but it's still hard for some reason.
I got your survey, vw. I'll fill it out as soon as I appease my stupid editor by explaining EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT SCIENCE.
ION, I just made a pot of chili. How horrible would it be to have chili for breakfast? It just smells so. damn. good.

The people who had three feet of snow will laugh and laugh and laugh, but for us we did have an actual winter storm--ice plus a inch or so of sleet. The streets are apparently insane.
They're doing a call-in winter storm program on the radio.
Caller: "I'm from the North and no one can drive on ice. We don't get it very often, so just stay home and enjoy it.
Meteorologist: "I don't get it very often, but when I do I enjoy it."
How horrible would it be to have chili for breakfast?
Chili is a perfectly acceptable breakfast food to me.
Cindy, I'm sorry about the ice dams. We had them a while ago. It lead to a big leak and then to a new roof (thankfully paid for by the insurance company). Big pain in the ass, though.
Well STACK MY CATS and call me Cindy!!!
Frankenbuddha, I so must tag this! Please? Unless Cindy wants it.
{{vw bug}} I'm sorry about your friend.
the Department of Immigration's homepage may be found here: [link]. They do claim to have work visa info.
Thanks, billytea. At least it's a place to start!
ION, I still haven't tried playing the cat stacking game. I get addicted to those kinds of things very easily. I don't need something else to make me late for appointments and work because I have to play
just one more game.
Must go make coffee.
I really need to be working on my paper. I'm not, though. Not really, at least. Every couple of minutes I flip over to it, add a couple of words, then come back to the Internet. I need to just buckle down and do it. I'd go to the coffee shop, where I have no Internet access, but it's a Saturday morning, so it's gonna be PACKED. Grrrr...I hate it when I do this.
