Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I also need to get one of those neat flippy reporter-type notebooks.

And a fedora and a little "PRESS" tag you can stick in it....

Up with the sun

Connie, I understand your opinion. For what it's worth, I've never had any problems as a reporter caused by not taping stuff. But, then, I'm not writing for the New York Times, either.

(It seems to me like most reporters I know only tape in specific circumstances -- e.g., if a source has been difficult in the past, or if there's likely to be a lot of technical language -- but I haven't done an exhaustive survey. Also, a lot of modern reporting is phone work, and I've never known any reporter who hooked a tape recorder up to their phone. I'm not sure if it's a technical thing, or just that we don't want to feel like Linda Tripp.)

I also need to get one of those neat flippy reporter-type notebooks.

Two words: steno pad. There's more room to write than the special reporter's notebooks.

Always Anti-fascist!

The few times I used a tape I was sorry, but P-C will not have the dexterity problems I've got.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I think my right side is better - it seems to be more cheerful. The left side looks, kinda...evil. Not Phantom evil (the Movies in 15 Minutes by cleolinda at lj is hilarious), but more of an "I can do evil if I want to". The slant of my eye gives it away.

P-C, tapes might be a pain, but you'll be thankful in the long run if you use them.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So I've been e-mailing back and forth with my science news editor. He asked if I were interested in doing a story on nanoparticles, since there was a recent story on the UM homepage about nanoparticle stuff. But also, one of the science writers works in the lab of someone who's also doing nanoparticle stuff, so he thought we could make it a big feature.

I asked him whether he wanted one story, or did he want a page, with me doing one story and the other guy doing the story on his professor.

Well, the other guy can't do that one since it'd be a conflict of interest, of course.

So I was like, okay, it might take a while. And here's another nanotechnology thing happening at UM. So either I can write one huge story which will take me some time, or you can have three of us do a story each and make a page out of it.

Yea, make a big story! But we don't need it anytime soon. I would get other reporters involved but they are tackleing other stories and I don't know how interested or how well they could handle it.

All he's seen from me is the COX-2 story, and now I'm the go-to guy for biotype stuff. Rock.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The pictures are wonderful - beathen is foamy, P-C indeed has a splendid smile, Aimee's aglow, MM's all full of wonderment, vw and Emily are so obviously in love with Emeline (and my God, Emily is all glowy and healthy-looking and has actual roses in her cheeks!), and E. herself is just... ohhhh.

Yes, P-C, that is what I do all. day. long. And it's impossible to do without a foot pedal. Please don't ever try again.

And now, back to my own foot pedal.
