So much better...shower and haircut.
Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I had a haircut and color today. It's shorter and redder.
A very sweet coworker, whose English is light-years ahead of my Spanish, and yet far more potential than actual, gave me a very cute pair of earrings for my birthday. Given in a small cardboard box, no cotton-wool or any packing material, so maybe not new, but who cares, that's why we have rubbing alcohol. And yesterday, she wrapped a twisty-tie around my finger to get the size, saying she "maybe go to Mexico tomorrow, visit mother. I have ring for you."
We are not so close I would have expected even a card from her (other than signing the group card) let alone a present. And a second present, just for the heck of it? I dunno. Anyway, language barrier being what it is, I can't ask her (and don't know that I would, given the circumstances) directly.
Her grandmother passed away three weeks ago. So I wonder if maybe this is her sharing some very minor pieces of grandmother's jewelry with me. At a guess, it's not really likely - possibly more likely that she is clearing out her own jewelry box ("I never wear these, and they'd look so cute on Andi") to make room for whatever her Grandmother left her. Or maybe she is just giving gifts because making other people smile will cheer her up.
Does the hivemind have any offerings on Mexican mourning customs? Cuz on the off-chance that this is directly related to the grandmother's passing, then I'd like to respond in the appropriate manner.
Otherwise, I'll just look for the prettiest, floweriest thank you card I can find in the Spanish section.
As long as it doesn't mean you're engaged....
Bleh. Today, during my last class, my blood sugar just totally dropped. I'm not totally sure what happened, but I suddenly went from a little tired to completely dizzy and horrible headache and barely able to keep my vision in focus. As soon as the class was over, I went over the the vending machine and got some M&Ms and at those, and that got me feeling well enough to walk back to my office. Then I had a bottle of water and felt well enough to walk home, where I ate some leftover fried rice and then pretty much collapsed into bed, where I fell asleep for a few hours. I don't know what was going on, but I really don't like it.
I tense up when somebody's taking photographs. I take bad photographs so I tense up so the photographs are bad and around and around and around it goes.
Me too. Almost all the pictures of me that I've liked have been ones where I didn't know there was a camera there. Of course, those are also some of the worst.

This is why I don't like Pete taking photos. "No, wait, you're standing funny. No, now you're making a weird face. Stop looking so tense."
Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Jan 24, 2004:
Johnny Carson died.
We used to watch him when we were little.
It was hard to stay up that late,
but when we did, we had fun.
And we'd go to bed happy,
even if we didn't know why.
And even though we didn't know it at the time,
he shaped our lives.
Thanks & goodnight.
An Adult Swim "Bump" broke me, dammit.

I've mentioned before that my Medical Insurance through the state of Minnesota goes away Monday.
So I got my 1 year diabetes testing out of the way. Glucose was slightly higher on average, 7.5. Gotta work on that.
However the big shocker was my Cholesterol.
130. Down from 149. I thought I was low before, but you ain't seen nothing yet.
My LDL (bad cholesterol) plummeted from a respectable 101 to an even more respectable 80.
My HDL stayed the same, a little low, 36, but I'll work on it.
