So are Braxton-Hicks contractions supposed to make you unable to walk? If my core tightens up while I'm sitting, I can't actually stand up straight for a bit. Or is that just normal and not a B-H contraction?
I had a lot of Braxton-Hicks in all three pregnancies, but don't remember that. I had groin muscle spasms that hurt with the sitting and standing. I doubt it is a problem, but you might want to double check with your doctor, Raquel. Although I have to admit, I am firmly planted in the check-out-the-unusual camp, and am probably quicker to call the doctor than a lot of people.

connie, my Mom never had to take rat poison, but part of her chemo involved a platinum isotope. We thought that was very swanky, though it still made her throw up.
Cindy, I think it hit me because when I was trying to get pregnant, I always thought I wanted a daughter. When my best friend M. had her son last December, though, everything changed. I adore that little boy so much, and now I understand that if I ever did have a child I would be madly in love with him or her regardless of gender. Being around Isaac has changed my perspective so much.

Raquel - boys are fantastic. I'm so happy for you. I had a girl first, and love her beyond all reason. When I was finally pregnant with kid #2, I wanted to know what we were having, but the sprog was not being cooperative. I waffled between wishing it was a girl, because I knew what to do with a girl, and wishing it was a boy, cause - well - I already had a girl. CJ is ALL boy and as different as night and day from K-bug, but I love him beyond all reason also.
Like Cindy, I am an only also, there are very few boy children on my side of the family, while my husband had one brother and very few other girl children on his side. It has been quite the learning experience for both of us.
The point being - I'm happy for you - ENJOY motherhood!
