Nope. Not awake. Really. I swear.
Do you know amyparker, my sister who lives in Salt Lake proper? And why are you going to be here?
She was still posting when I first joined, and her updates while you were vacationing on Ospedale Island were very much appreciated.
As for the why, it's for work. Each year, BAM (Big Automobile Manufacturer) holds its annual product preview in a spectacular locale. Last year it was in Palm Springs. This year, SLC won the sweepstakes. I believe we're actually in the 'burbs; once I get into work in the morning, er, later today, I'll let you know the details.
not awake. not watching a Jackie Chan movie. and not suffering from cramps.
Not awake. Not watching a Jackie Chan movie The Daily Show. Not suffering from cramps. Not putting a hot pad on my tummy.
Blergh.
Bedtime.
This post brought to you by Gosh It's Fun To Be Female. And inappropriate capitalization. I'm blaming the prostaglandins for that too.
Cass, I'm very sorry that I brought the crime into your life. Wait. I'm now choosing to blame billytea.
I'm a catalyst. I make things happen. I'm like a Volvo driver, I never have an accident, though I see lots...
I have worn ankle-length to bottom-of-the-knee.

Meanwhile. Today was Australia Day! I played D&D all day. After sunset there were fireowrks, and I discovered that my apartment had a ring-side view. So that was nice. And, I got some treatment for my feet yesterday. I have some stretching exercises, my right foot is now taped, and I have anti-inflammatories and uber-painkillers as required. I do not have coritsone injections in my feet. Apparently it's the last resort here, as opposed to the first resort for the doctor I saw in Philly. I'm good with that. The treatment I've received has bought the pain back to irritation levels, and actually stands a chance of curing it.
On the downside, I've been having unpleasant dreams, where I keep reliving Bec telling me she doesn't love me, and doesn't think she ever did. Of course, waking up doesn't help. Sigh. Oh, but I did meet a rather noteworthy woman at a party, talked for an hour or more. I was getting the 'You're worth talking to' signals, mirroring posture and that kind of thing, though no flirtage. Not that that matters, I'm so not ready to meet anyone else yet. But it did help, feeling that rapport is possible and conceivably in my future.
Billytea, glad to hear you're getting your foot taken care of. And how cool to have ringside seats to fireworks!
As for ringside seats, I'm hoping to have rinkside seats this Sunday. My daughter's roller derby team (the Quad Squad) has their first bout then. Her boyfriend is going to be the team mascot. He's a bit trepidacious as at his first practise last week he saw one of the girls get carried out on a stretcher by some EMTs. I'm so excited, I can hardly wait.
I'm up, but I'm not awake. Must get in shower. Must go to classes. This is going to be a very long day.
Poptarts:
Oh, thank GOD! My car wasn't towed. I was certain it was towed because of the snow emergency, but it wasn't. This absolutely makes my day. Of course, it's going to be much fun to dig out, but still. IT'S NOT TOWED!
yay for vw's car not being towed.
jealous of BT's foot care. I went to the orthopedic nurse, who was like, "here's a photocopy with stretches. do them. get some heel cups. no, we won't give them to you- buy them at CVS." Gee, thanks lady.
jobma for Karl!!!!!!!
I don't even know what I'm going to do with myself with that much unexpected time off!
DUDE. May I suggest a trip to Lush? In Boston? Hey now!

These two things are probably connected - I suspect whoever would have done the towing wasn't about to dig you out to do so.
We have snow emergency parking bans in Salem, but the side streets never get the cars towed away, because the plows just bury them instead.
On a related note, our parking area finally got plowed yesterday, and I managed to dig my car out. Just in time for more snow. Oh well, the one good thing about this storm is the snow was light - 38" of wet, sloppy snow would have been a nightmare (not that 38" of light snow was a picnic).
Oh, and what Nora said re vw's car.
