Does anyone have any great ideas for low-carb food to bring onto a plane? (So, ideally wouldn't need refrigeration, or take up tons of room or need prep, etc). I'm flying to England on Tuesday, so I'll be in the air awhile, and know that my usual "mmm, junior mints!" won't cut it. (I'm going to start Phase 2 of South Beach on Monday, so they don't have to be NO carb, just low).

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

i'm lurking in the literati room because i've never seen it played, but i can't see anything that's happeneing.

Hit the "Kibitz" button, and you can see everyone's tiles.

meara- nuts. almonds, cashews, macadamias, whatever is your favorites. seeds too. since you're starting phase 2 soon, then even a piece of fruit would be good- an apple, an orange. That way, you have salty and sweet.

OK, going to bed.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Are you allowed almonds or other nuts, meara? Maybe some trail mix type of thing? What about fruit? Apples are also good for planes.

You know what's kind of funny? Since yesterday's chiro appointment, I've been sitting on my exercise ball, and the cats are going nuts trying to figure out how they can sit on my lap.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

You could make a wrap with a whole wheat tortilla and some deli meat or cheese or whatever. Wrap it in foil, and it'll travel well. I've got a recipe somewhere around here for a wheat salad that I'm pretty sure is OK for phase 2 of South Beach, and it's supposed to travel well. Whole wheat pita and a disposable container of hummus. Fruit.

Hmm. I think I need to buy more nuts. I do have low-carb tortillas though. And hummus. And some apples--what would be a good way to bring some peanut butter along, but not the whole jar?

Those Gladware thingies. They make some little 1/2 cup containers.

meara, they have these tiny little tupperware containers at the store. I use them for salad dressing.
