Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH and I are going on a snow-walk. I have no boots, so I'm wearing one layer of socks, a plastic newspaper bag, and another layer of socks. Under sneakers. We'll see how well this works. Ooh! I almost forgot my tiara!

Jessica, I want pictures of you, snow and the tiara! You will be the new Snow Queen. But nicer.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Biscuits

2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortning
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk

Sift together dry ingredients except for baking soda. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk. Cut in shortning with a pastry blender, knives or your fingers until mixture resembles coarse meal. Pour in buttermilk mixture and stir until just mixed. Turn out on floured board and knead about 10 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

If you don't have buttermilk, use plain milk, 3 tsp. baking powder and no soda.

For dumplings or drop biscuits, add a little more buttermilk or milk to make a stiff dough.

Easy Biscuits

Add enough heavy cream to self-rising flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out or drop as above. Makes great dumplings for chicken and dumplings.

(I'm not really here. A friend who edits a weekly newspaper guilted me into proofreading because she has several people out. I need to sit down with these large pages and a red pen.)

Ginger, this is not of the sense making.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Also -- Trudy and GC -- did you guys see the bit of the GG's where Robin Williams was introducing his kids and he said that one of them was a "Hello Kitty" expert? (Or something like that.)

I didn't see this. I'm not a Robin W fan at all, but his HK kid must be cool.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ginger has a new tag.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Hm, an ex-neighbor is selling their house for not an outrageous sum of money. It's nice- excellent yard action, small but nice single family house in Somerville. Across the street from my old apartment, where my best friend currently lives!

Sigh. Couldn't they have waited to put it up for sale in another 4-5 months?

All is well that ends in pizza.
