I wish it was snowing here. Do all you snow people hate me? I miss that sort of cozy feeling of being warm insode and watching the crazy weather outside. When we lived in Colorado, we would get 15 foot drifts in our yard after a blizzard.
It's 1:30 here. I'm still in my comfy, dog-walking clothes (sweats) and I just took a nap on the coach. My mood and lack of getting anything done would be perfect for a snow day.
Years ago I lived next to a firehouse (the one at Cedar and Franklin, for MSPistas). The firefighters had a wonderful dalmation that was the star of the neighborhood. They used to call in an order to the nearby Taco place and send the dog up the street to pick it up. The dog would wait patiently at the back door of the resturant, then put the take-out bag in it's mouth and run back to the fire station. The dog always got a taco for it's trouble.
Trying again!
Whoa -- big gust of wind just blew masses sheets of snow off the roof next door. Also, it's snowing very busily and in giant flakes on the window that faces south (kitchen) and tiny flakes on the window to the west (dining room).
I actually ran out to the post office, figuring - incorrectly - that nobody would be there. I stepped into a couple unexpectedly deep patches of snow, got snow down my hiking boots and now, I think my ankles have recovered their heat. As have I, after a nice hot cup of tea.
I'm happy I don't have to go anywhere else, although, I should go to the grocery store. It's a good day to stay in.
Happy Birthday Windsparrow!
I have no baby wrangling advice for Susan -- but Anabel's desire to touch the stars her Daddy made for her is just much too cute.
Yes, Nora, I got the package and you shouldn't have, although it made me happy. I was glad to help. I have what I'm sure will be a brilliant e-mail half-written in my Drafts e-mail folder.
"Dear God, help mommy to TiVo The Book of Pooh, so I can watch it in the morning."
And who says we don't need religion in this modern world. It takes faith to turn your life over to Tivo. Yes, Cindy, you nearly killed me with cuteness.
So, the open house has been cancelled because of the weather. Just as well, because me + leaving the house today = not gonna happen.
Just got back in from

I love that firehouse, Rick.
Kristin, my sister in slackiness!!
I have to decide if I'm going to shovel out our steps later today or not. Of course, that is dependent on me finding where they hide the snow shovel (we live in an apartment building, but we have two entrances - one that leads to the rest of the building, and one that leads directly out. So the caretaker isn't reuired to muck our our private entrance).
I (finally) looked at deb's makeover pics in Beep Me. Deb looks fabulous!!!! Also, I'm kinda crushing on David E.

I want a dog now. And taco shop food.
But I do have coffee, laundry in the washer, clean dishes and I realized that I can put together the boxes I have been meaning to put together for months while sitting on the bed, occasionally posting and watching tv. So I'm gonna be grateful for that and not mope for lack of my theorectical food fetching puppy.
Later I will get out of my comfy slippers, yoga pants and tshirt and actually shower. But not yet.
Cindy, I just read your story (I was skimmy earlier) and nearly died from the cute.
Also, this:
Scott, being more street smart than I, set the boys' clock back an hour, after they fell asleep, as added insurance. I felt that was sort of dirty pool, but kept my mouth shut.]
slays me.
