Sometimes when I'm sitting in class... You know, I'm not thinking about class, 'cause that would never happen. I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops. It's like, it's like freeze frame. Willow kissage.

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Is Ginger around? Did you get anything from me in the mail? Just checking...

We went grocery shopping last night and did laundry early. Now we can curl up and watch the snow come down.

Money is certainly a control issue in my parental dynamic. But while it makes things tougher, financially, for me it's way better to be on the side of not taking any money and doing your own thing, because it cleans up a lot of issues. You're responsible for your self, and ultimately, only to yourself (in the big picture).

I am also in my bathrobe surfing the internets while Tom makes butternut squash soup for lunch. Mmmm.

Because books.

My kids all did this.

I don't remember the boys doing it at all. But yes, when she's hiccup-sobbing at whatever indignation a 14-month-old has suffered, and she's patting *my* shoulder, I melt into a puddle.

"Hurrican force winds"

Our weather guy was saying something about "thunder snow" last night, which sounded very wrong, but also kind of cool.

The status is NOT quo.

Thunder snow is the coolest. I've only seen it a handful of times, but the lightning up in the clouds combined with the thunder is incredible.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Could a dog read the list?

I could borrow the neighbor's dog I suppose. "What was that Lassie? (not her name but I don't remember her name so Lassie it is) Cassie needs milk? And some of that butternut squash tortellini? Will that be credit or debit, girl?"

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What's that girl? Timmy's trapped in the burning barn? Paper or plastic?

The status is NOT quo.

If I sent my dogs to the store, they would not bring anything home. They would eat it on the way, including the dixie cups. Not big on self-restraint, my dogs.

The cats would get about halfway up the driveway before deciding that they would much rather chase something furry or possibly take a nap.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Morning.

DH is at work today. I'm still in my jammies, listening to the Stones, and surfing the Net. Not too shabby, I think.

Cindy, your story just about killed me.

And just to remind me how cute he is, my older cat Byron is now curled up in my inbox on my desk. He's been sleeping there all week since I cleaned my desk off. I have a feeling it may interfere with my ability to actually do anything left in the inbox.

Edit: Juliana, I too am of the music, jammies, web, and good music department. At the moment, Beatles, but the Stones are next up in my playlist.

Trust my rage

I wish it was snowing here. Do all you snow people hate me? I miss that sort of cozy feeling of being warm insode and watching the crazy weather outside. When we lived in Colorado, we would get 15 foot drifts in our yard after a blizzard.

It's 1:30 here. I'm still in my comfy, dog-walking clothes (sweats) and I just took a nap on the coach. My mood and lack of getting anything done would be perfect for a snow day.

Years ago I lived next to a firehouse (the one at Cedar and Franklin, for MSPistas). The firefighters had a wonderful dalmation that was the star of the neighborhood. They used to call in an order to the nearby Taco place and send the dog up the street to pick it up. The dog would wait patiently at the back door of the resturant, then put the take-out bag in it's mouth and run back to the fire station. The dog always got a taco for it's trouble.
