Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Punishingly Intricate

But make it a competition, and I'm on fire to go.

I was visiting my brother and SiL this past weekend and they both just went on WW at the start of the year. They are ALL ABOUT the competitive aspect of it. So far it's all funny competitive. Not cutthroat.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The university I work at has a "get fit" competition program, where you have teams, and each team member tracks how many minutes of exercise he or she does, and then the teams are ranked by overall amount of time exercised. It's pretty cool, and the medical department (who is sponsoring it) is trying to create opportunities to exercise, which are actually a lot of fun and kind of social too.

Today we went on a half hour brisk walk through the basement corridors, or "tunnels" of campus. I had a great time and am now all pumped up and wired. I've been doing solo exercise for so long, I forgot how much fun it can be to do it in groups. I mean, I wouldn't want to do it every day, that would drive me nuts, but once or twice a week is fun.

Whoooooooooooooo!

And, Susan, heh. It's funny when Tom and I get on weight loss kicks. He SO doesn't need to lose any weight- but he used to be a Fat Kid (till college, I think), and is kind of mentally scarred by that. So he is ultra supportive of when I want to eat healthier or whatever. But I definitely outweigh him, which is kind of weird to think about, I guess.

Deb, I have had several dreams that Tom (or Dream Tom, as we like to refer to him- Dream Tom's a jerk) has cheated on me (a holdover from insecurities occuring from my previous relationship) but it's been probably almost a year since I had one, and I thought I was finally letting go of some stuff. The one last night was even worse- there was some sleeping with other people involved, but it didn't have to do with a lack of sexual desirability on my part, it was because Dream Tom plain didn't love me even a little bit and never had. Argh.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Nora, it's okay. I dreamed that Topic!Cindy changed her name to Lightbulbs.

I thought that was relevant in some way, but I might be wrong.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

How long have you been collecting teacups, sj? Why did you start?

I have been collecting teacups for a while, since just before I went to England for the first time in 1998. I started collecting them when I became totally obsessed with tea and afternoon tea traditions. I was packing some of them last night, and I have way too many.

You have too many minus one.

Yes, and I refuse to pack that one up until the day I move. It is just too pretty.

brillig

Boy, if Hubby started in on the "I'm going to weigh less than you-ou" thing, he'd be an ex-Hubby.

This ornament is the same pattern as the teacup he got me.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Boy, if Hubby started in on the "I'm going to weigh less than you-ou" thing, he'd be an ex-Hubby.

Connie, just so you know, in the above sentence I read "ex" as "no longer living due to violence" vs. "legally separated."

The status is NOT quo.

They now occur four to five times a year. I wake up, quite literally, screaming. It's become a ritual. Nic pats me on the arm, sleepily says "All the men you've loved loved you back, especially me" and waits for me to fall back asleep.

Fucking abandonment dreams. Horrible.

Oh brr. I just had one of those last week. I despise them.

Also, having seen sj with her boy, I have to say that he is totally into her in that "I will move with your family and look at you adoringly in the process" kind of way.
