thomash, yay for the good interview!
Lee, you're a librarian? Are you also a lawyer (or do you work for a law firm), or have I had you in the wrong geek pile all this time?
I got my hair cut. About a foot of hair is gone.
I like it. It's about chin-length in the front, and angled down so the sides are just short of brushing my shoulders. (Well, it's a bit past shoulder-length when it's wet.) And the stylist completely knew how to work with curls, so this isn't just one of those "cut it as if it were straight" or "cut it as if I'm going to be straightening it every morning" cuts, it actually works with the curls, and does it well -- it's layered so the hair doesn't pile up, and there are a few shorter curls falling into my face (but not into my eyes -- I have no idea how that works, but it does), and if I shake my head around, it all falls back into place.
Sounds great, Hil. I still need to get my hair cut. My hair, sensing this, hasn't looked better in two months.
Great news, ThomasH!
How lucky for you to find a stylist who can wrangle curls. They're in short supply,
Indeed. I'm glad my daughter finally embraced her curls because she's one of the few people who know how to cut my hair, now. Doesn't hurt she doesn't charge me anything, either!
Dad's procedure went well. He's having no pain from the surgery so far, but the doctor gave him a prescription for Vicodan anyway. My brother is driving him home and back to the doctor tomorrow to get the eye patch removed. I'm so glad Dad finally got this cataract fixed. He's a bad enough driver as it is; knowing his vision was getting pretty fuzzy was freaking me out.

She's a librarian AND a lawyer. And by night, she fights crime.
Yay thomash! Yay good interviews!
Hil, your haircut sounds very nice.
I have an odd question for the Bitch hivemind: I need suggestions for single-note scents (they don't have to be floral) that smell pink. Scents that, when you catch a whiff of them, make you think of the color pale pink.
Most rose scents overpower the other things my friend is mixing. (She's decided she is going to make the perfect
really expensive pink chocolate truffle Fairie with pointy shoes
perfume for me.)
And rose is darker pink, anyway.
For some reason, freesia is pink, too.
Skipping 300ish posts to say: Loved P-C's wedding description.
our duty was to drink fruity beverages
That's just delicious. So was the bit about the silly string. Gotta love a religion that can do its rituals with practical joke equipment. I suppose it is too much to ask that they release peanut cannister snakes at my funeral to symbolize The Resurrection?
Lately I've been wondering if there is a hair cut that would look good on me in wash-and-wear circumstances (I hate having to do more than brush and install ponytail holder). It would also have to cope with my bicycle helmet for a couple hours a day, and be long enough to be put up so as to be off my neck and out of my face.
Cotton candy, Jilli. Although, it may be too sweet for what you want.
