Trudy! So nice to see you.
juliana, if you did eat and drink normally yesterday, I wouldn't worry so much about not keeping things down for the first 24 hours. If you're still not able to at least drink water and some broth tomorrow, I wouldn't hop back on the Reglan; I'd see a doctor. Go to the ER if you show signs of dehydration (if you pinch the skin on the back of your hand and it doesn't immediately return to its original position, you're dehydrated).
My guess is that your Reglan prescription was to counteract the nausea that can come with the opiod painkillers you took after your accident; if you've got a bateria making your stomach unhappy, it might not be a good idea to stop your vomiting, as awful as that sounds, because it's the best way your body has to get rid of whatever's making you sick.
I might try some ginger tea today (sip it over the course of a half-hour or so) and see if it helps at all; it's good for GI sadness. Mint and/or chamomile will also be good for the tummy if you don't have any ginger.
Edit: You ate Lee for breakfast? Damn. Suddenly my bowl of Grape-Nuts seems so boring.
Hmmm. Can you keep down liquids? If you can, I'd say stick to Gatorade and chicken broth (or other broth) for the rest of the day, maybe tomorrow, and you probably won't need the drug.
That said, if you keep throwing up repeatedly, take the drug.
Bottom line: it won't hurt you to take it, but you may not actually need it. If you're just *worried* that you'll keep puking (which sucks), try the clear liquids route and see how you do. If you *are* still puking and just really want to not be, and want to get some sleep, take it.

Partial x-post with the actual medical lady! I'd stick with Jen's advice.
Okay. Thank you, both. I'ma go make some hot water and add a tiny bit of ginger root. The advice is most appreciated.
Trudy, it's nice to see you back here.
juliana, I'm not medically inclined, but I was hospitalized for dehydration twice when I was a kid, and I've taken care of a lot of stomach ailments over the past 9 years. I wouldn't take the medication, at least not without a doctor's okay for this particular situation.
It was one thing after your accident, but this time, the nausea is likely to stem from either bad food, or a stomach virus. You don't want to keep either of them in. You want them to run their course.
Take nothing by mouth for a few hours after vomiting. Then go to crushed ice (if you have a blender). Just a few of spoonfuls at a time--maybe every half hour. Assuming you hold down the crushed ice, you can move to ginger ale, late tonight, or tomorrow. Try to make it a little flat, and only take sips. If the ginger ale takes, other clear fluids, etc. TMI (well not, but frank discussion)
If you're throwing and going, you're at the most danger of dehydrating. If you're (just) throwing, it's more probable than if you're just running to the bathroom.
Overall, the secret is to lose less than you take in. You don't want to take a lot of either ice or ginger ale, just enough to keep you from dehydrating. If you take too much, and vomit, you'll lose more than you gained.
Also? You can have Z pick you up some Pedialyte. It's for kids, but who cares. There are flavors. It has electrolytes, but not all the stuff in Gatorade, that might be too harsh for your tum.

Huh. Sweet hints of a kinky nature. Of course, that's playing off my college life.
Back from New York with a cold. Consider me in [gronk] until further notice. Hi, Bitches.
Hmmm. I'm a tad kinkier than I thought according to that quiz. It said I was too kinky for most. And I'm not even into bondage.
