Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

OF course, if Hubby really is a German double agent, the whole 'No, I met him by accident in an elevator' story is even more unlikely.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm sorry, Deb.The past is always with us.

I'm glad things look better today, Gud. I'm also glad that Deena's Nick is looking at going back to school, but wish that he would discuss it at a more civilized hour.

I've done the same thing with clients several times, Nora, with no repercussions.

What is even happening?

OF course, if Hubby really is a German double agent, the whole 'No, I met him by accident in an elevator' story is even more unlikely.
Yeah. What sci-fi-convention-attending-guy meets the German Minister of Trade, in an elevator, in Utah, at BYU no less, by accident, and gets invited to a party by him? C'mon. Jack Bauer wouldn't buy that cover for a second.

Though isn't part of it not being old and/or mature enough to really get it?

Part of what? I'm not sure I'm following the train of thought. I may need more coffee. But yes, of course one can be too young/immature to appreciate a book, regardless of how (or if) it's taught. For 9th graders, White Fang shouldn't be a problem. It usually gets presented as a story about a doggie and the gold rush with some good vocabulary words, and if nobody asks kids to look for anything more than that, most of them won't. And then they'll forget all about it it as soon as the test's over, because it was meaningless.

And I understand why that happens; I'm not blaming the teachers. It's just a shame that it happens so often.

Wasn't Willoughby Chase about Guy Fawkes? Ish? Or was that a different one?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

FUCKING FUCKING FUCK.

I Hate fucking ADP. They did not deposit Tom's paycheck into the joint account, and we are way overextended, and while the fucking paper check he's got in his hands is sweet and fucking QUAINT, it won't clear through till Tuesday, and we have $640 out to the mechanics, $500+ to AmEx.

JESUS. Fucking incompetants. I feel so fucking violent right now.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Nora, won't the bank take it into account, even if it hasn't cleared yet? Ours does. I am sorry, though. That's just so frustrating.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Wasn't Willoughby Chase about Guy Fawkes? Ish? Or was that a different one?

What I remember is that Orphaned Cousin comes to live with Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin. Both cousins are girls, and become fast friends. Uncle and Aunt go on trip of some sort, leaving girls with Mean Governess, who locks them in a cupboard and feeds them only breadcrusts. Uncle and Aunt are allegedly in an accident while on their trip, and presumed dead.

Mean Governess sends girls off to Oliver Twist-like orphanage, where things don't look up for them.

I won't spoil the ending.

I don't know. I can't even deal with it right now.

Also? I am sick of people yelling at me because my boss hasn't returned their calls. Listen, ASSHOLES, my boss is overworked and underpaid, is trying to raise a family and do about 3 zillion jobs while shielding all of us from the shit she deals with. You know? SHUT UP. She'll call you back when she has, oh, 3 minutes. She'll even skip lunch for you. So STFU now, 'kay? FUCKING ASSHOLES I'm dealing with today.

I'm going to go postal. I know it. Or have a heart attack. My chest hurts.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, Nora, I hate it when that happens. If you can get it deposited, even if it doesn't clear, the bank may waive any overdrawing charges and honor the outgoing payments. My bank, which is pretty horrible about stuff like that, has done it on occasion, so I think it's pretty common.
