Kaylee: Captain seem a little funny to you at breakfast this morning? Wash: Come on, Kaylee. We all know I'm the funny one.

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Heh. vw, I told DH about the diamond shoes and he looked at me and said, "that is funny."

Nora, you're already wicked smart, Woman. But I hope you feel better today.

I got some decent sleep in spite of staying up with DH to watch HP:PoA last night until 1:00. The boy obliged by sleeping until 7 instead of 5.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I remember that from "Friends," originally- Chandler says something like, "my diamond shoes are too tight and my wallet's not big enough to hold all my fifty dollar bills!" But a little snappier than that. Man, I am tired. Plus, my workplace is trying to thwart me by not giving my an online option to get reimbursed for taking my GREs.

Talk about diamond shoes. Wah, my work will reimbuse me for every conceivable educational expense but I can't figure out how to get $115 back on the internet!

Thank god they had Kaplan in their list of schools, because that class was pricy, and that money needs to go back into savings! So that we can take it out again next week to pay BC. Man, it's nice to have a cushion like that. I mean, I don't know how well we'd fare if we had to actually pay for stuff, but just being able to front the money for 6 months is a huge thing for me.

Wow, I'm babbling!

brillig

So the massive Cali storms have reached Utah. Fortunately, they decided to spare the Salt Lake metro area and dump ass on north Utah and south Utah. Northern Utah has shut down due to snow--and in a state known for its snow, that's impressive. Unfortunately, the equivalent in rain is hitting southern Utah, and I think their annual yearly rainfall is measured in the single digits.

However, I am wickedly amused that 17 houses in a brand new subdivision have been eaten by a flooded river. They weren't occupied yet, and I do feel sorry for the people who have lost their money, but developers need to learn to pay attention to geography. They're called flashfloods, people, and that dry riverbed that is so appealing for building in was not carved in the distant past. The pioneers didn't build there for a reason, people! They took a look at it, said, "Hm, they've had some significant water flow here, let's go build on something higher." Dude.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I wonder if anyone here knows what it's from. If not, I will have to educate you all sooner or later.

No clue, but I'd bet a week's worth of hot cocoa that it is not from "My Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Yard".

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Gronk. Day off. Snow Day for the roomie, too. I wish that my coffee was ready and that I had the apartment to myself.

I wanted to go to the store and post office to get stuff in the mail for Tim. The roads look not good. Mebbe later.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Here I go over to Verizon.

I used to be on Verizon. It was much slower. However, I'm mad at Adelphia right now. Not so much for disconnecting me over sharing copyrighted work, but now the signal's too weak for me to split it.

However, I will make them fix it. I'm too spoiled to go back to Verizon speeds.

I used to hate this, too! It was never so much fun to take days off when living with B, because she was home during the day anyway (she's a waitress).

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

P-C's tagline sounds like it's from the Bizarro Spice Girls.

Yay Minian! I hope your FiL is genuinely happy, Nonian, or at least not obnoxiously disappointed.

Yay Deena's furnace and Beej's stove.

Everyone at my high school (Baton Rouge, La) took the ACT. Our quarterback, who went on to sign with a farm team associated with the Phillies, got a 3. I got a 33. And 800's on the GRE. I test well. Like JZ, I tend to treat multiple choice tests like a puzzle or strategy game, me against the test maker.

Got a wedding invitation yesterday from a couple that I knew were getting married but last time I talked to them they hadn't set a date. The wedding is the first weekend in March. In order to get the group rate at the Westin we have to book early in February. This seems amazingly soon to me. But, yay, trip to New York, where I haven't been in 2 years.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

I'm getting majorly squicked out by my roommate right now. She's a teacher, and (from all the phone calls I'm hearing), she's dealing with an abuse situation right now.

But she's already called three of her family members to tell the stories about what happened yesterday. It's a touchy situation and she's using names, etc. Shouldn't there be some sort of confidentiality here? Like, don't use it as gossip fodder?

Maybe I'm just too grouchy this morning.
