Gulp. This is a tough room. I got 1250 on my SAT's and was happy about it. Ah well, life is cool when you are happy being average.
Oh Nora, I so didn't mean to come off that way. Everyone above me was posting these incredibly high scores, and I started to think... huh.

Somehow, I had imagined a sound designer to be much more MATHY!
Mine are ingrained in me, as I had the highest in my schol which was a little bit of a surprise, because, akthough I was a top student I wasn't THE TOP. I think all the mathy people had a much harder time being verbal than I had being mathy.

On the day I took the SATs (yes, when dinosaurs roamed the earth), I went out to my car and discovered that I had forgotten to drive.
Seriously.
No sense memory at all.
I sat there, for at least 15 minutes telling myself that I was, indeed, smart enough to figure out how to run the contraption, even if I had just unscrewed the top of my head and left my brain on the scantron.
I think I got some paultry 1150. The 500 math was a TOTAL fluke.
Both my Master's degrees? From programs not coincidentally chosen for their lack of GRE need.

I firmly blieve the SAT's are a test if how well you test I do very well on tests. And grades. And pleasing people and giving them what they want With a practical common sense. Which pretty much seems to = secretary, so not very helpful.
I only remember my SATs because I got the same score as Buffy. (And felt like shit about it, because so many people in my class got perfect scores. Bitches.)
Cindy, I found what I was looking for. It's gonna take me a bit to type it up, and I doubt that's going to happen tonight. I've got a couple of pages of stuff for you, though. I'll try to get it to you tomorrow.

I had 760 verbal and 790 math, I think.
From what I've been reading about the new SATs, they're pretty much abandoning the whole "This test will test how well you'll do in college" line, since it's pretty obvious by now that that's garbage, and are now making it more of a test of stuff that's actually in the standard high school curriculum.
800 Math, 730 Verbal. Since everyone else is doing it.
In seventh grade, I forget the breakdown, but it was something like a 1070 or something.

It is very much different now from what my gradpa had in the 40's and othe family members in the 30's though. I'm really glad that the phamacological alternatives that were unavailable to my beloved grandpa and others work for me I know I am lucky!
