That's freakish? My verbal was 120 points higher than my math.
I've very rarely encountered it, either among my friends or when I used to see grad students' SAT and GRE scores because of my job. Of course, they were grad Biology students, which would skew the sample mathy.
You know, I should clarify that to "the only way my math could have been higher than my verbal would have been if I'd scored perfectly on the math, which I SO did not, having only average math scores, for lo, it was early in the morning and the math they have on the SAT is not the math I am strong in the force with, yo."
But it's early, I'm cold, and I haven't had breakfast yet.

I had no idea there were preps for the SATs. I never studied in high school. But I apparently test very well, because I was the only National Merit Finalist, beating out our valedictorian, and I wasn't even in the top 10 of the class.
Thanks Susan. I hadn't thought of the sports commentator argument. His economic sense might see an advantage for sponsor dollars for the communicative sports star too.
His middle school basketball tryouts are today. They don't generally take more than a couple 7th grade kids, but his 6' stature might make the coach look twice.
I don't remember the math on the SAT. I remember it on the GRE. There was a lot of geometry. There were all these questions based on a figure that had parallel lines and triangles. Some essential concept that I couldn't remember linked them all together.

Yep, I want to say that my verbal score was well over 100 points higher than my math. Maybe closer to 200. The math is not with me.
