Oh, I meant to mention. I got given a french press for Christmas and I've never used one. The instructions came in every human written language, but don't say anything about how much coffee you should use. Any suggestions out there?
JSw, I use a tablespoon of coarsely ground coffee per *mug* (b/c when the instructions say "a cup," well, a coffee mug holds more than an actual 8-oz cup). However, I like my coffee as dark as Dark Willow, so take that into consideration in reading my recommendation.

Sisters in fashion disasters. I once dumped one of my uniform hats into (flushed, but still) toilet. Those buggers were not cheap to replace, yet it got replaced.
When I was working, I would spend money on clothes. As long as whatever you're spending on isn't so trendy that it would look dated in a season or two, it can be a good investment. Cut, fit, materials, workmanship, are somewhat price subjective.
I can't really wear wool these days. It itches too much, so most of the stuff I like that I can wear, isn't going to be expensive. I will pay money for coats, and things like that.
Good shoes are worth the money. The fit and look better, but I don't really have need of them, these days.

See, I have no problem with paying $235 for shoes if I love the shoes. I do have a humongous problem with calling them "affordable". No, my darling, they are not affordable to most of us, and it's patronising and insulting to call it that.
Gods, I am weary.
I have spent $200+ for a suit for work, back when I had to look a certain way for the corporate world, and I've spent $80 for running shoes, but that's about it.
I do own all five seasons of Babylon 5, though. The Puritans kicked my ancestors out of Massachusetts.

I will happily drop over $100 on two types of clothing and not even think twice (provided I've assured myself that they are high-quality): running shoes and winter coats. The rest of my wardrobe tends to clock in at around $50 or less. Except for that Lip Service jacket I bought at Metro in Seattle. But that - that was.... I have no good excuse. But I looooooove it. So much.
