I have spent $200+ for a suit for work, back when I had to look a certain way for the corporate world, and I've spent $80 for running shoes, but that's about it.
I do own all five seasons of Babylon 5, though. The Puritans kicked my ancestors out of Massachusetts.

ION -- Ahahahahahahahaaaaaaa!!! Chatty!co-worker just told me a story about his 7-year-old son: the son comes back from spending the night at a buddy's house, and the following conversation ensues:
Chatty: "Did you have fun, buddy?"
Son: "We played a ton of board games. And Jenga! That doesn't have a board."
Chatty: "What else did you play?"
Son: "Tommy and I played Nazi!"
[crickets]
[light bulb goes on]
Chatty: "I think you mean Yahtzee."

"the shoes clock in at an affordable $235," etc. I'm pretty sure I don't one single item of clothing (or footwear) that, all on its own, cost $100 or more.
I will happily drop over $100 on two types of clothing and not even think twice (provided I've assured myself that they are high-quality): running shoes and winter coats. The rest of my wardrobe tends to clock in at around $50 or less. Except for that Lip Service jacket I bought at Metro in Seattle. But that - that was.... I have no good excuse. But I looooooove it. So much.

One very good thing about being a goth girl is that one doesn't have to worry about fashionable. Therefore, one can cheerfully shop closeouts and bargain bins, because you're just going to be gothing the stuff up in the end, anyhow.

Mine ended up in Rhode Island. Among other things, they signed the Bradbury petition asking that Elizabeth Bradbury not be hanged for witchcraft. This apparently did not sit well with the powers that be.

I was wondering about that, when I mentioned trendy upstream, because although some people dress/try to dress Goth to be trendy, it's really the anti-trendy, isn't it. It's timeless in a different way.

I found mine, and, unfortunatly, it's ungodly expensive. Mom got me a bottle one Christmas, and I ration it like crazy rather than using it and just enjoying it, because I'm not sure I can let myself refill it.
