I've thought about getting a tattoo many times but I haven't found a picture/symbol that I liked enough to get it permanently affixed to my body.
I'm going to get a tattoo over my surgery scar (that picture's about a year old, so I'm sure the scar is faded even more now) some time this spring.
I used to think I wanted a tattoo right over the scar, to obscure it, but it's faded so well, I'm starting to think I'd rather get something decorative on the sides of the scar, like the Man Ray cello scrolls.
But I'm open to suggestions, please, because I haven't decided on a design yet.
Okay, I had a dream last night that one of you was pregnant.
Not me, either, for the record.
Cindy, I don't know how to process Andrea Yates, either -- I have a similar pile in my head. This is why I like to say fiction is often so much better than life.

I think you should get some form of tiny wings, because little angel or devil wings on either side of the scar would be very cool. Tho' I do like the Man Ray cello scrolls.
I love the cello scrolls. I also love the idea of flames or crackles of energy coming out of the tat. The wings idea rocks, as well.

I wish I had a scanner or a link to the picture, but I have a postcard of a nude woman holding her arms wide and grinning at the sky, with a beautiful dragon tattoo over her mastectomy scar. The most empowering fucking picture I have ever seen.
Oh, and unless the Goddess of Chaos has decided to massively piss off one of her faithful, I'm not It (preggers) either. No, wait. Because of last week I *know* I'm not. I didn't go through those cramps for nuthin.
Just popping in to say Not!Pregnant either. That I know of, anyway.

(I said this in my LJ) -- since I'm a writer, I would get a really cool tat of a fountain pen with a swell nib (no inkwell, though, and no feather on the pen), *except* the scar is so freaking low that it would look like I have a pen sticking out of my ass. And that's not the look I'm going for.
Also not it.
I said hi in Natter, Bells, but welcome, again.
Yeesh to all the snow upcountry. Safe driving, to those that must. Warm clothes, steaming baths and showers, and soft comfy clothes to those who arrive after having driven.
Feelbetter-ma to Deena's back.
Tep, I like the idea of flames or wings, too. The cello scrolls are pretty, but...inert. And you've been energized since the surgery. The tat should show that, I think.
Ok. I just got a HUGE indication that I need to majorly chill about Emily's birthday party. Whoo. I can be a big dodo head sometimes.

That's an interesting take on it -- the inert/energized idea. Because my thinking was that I want scrolls (or something similar) because I don't like the scar and I just want something pretty there, and because my back deserves to be adorned.
