I swear there was a Monk episode on this very subject recently. I think that's what it was, anyway.

Nonian, nah.
I wish if it is going to snow, it would do it on sunday, so I'd at least have one weekend day to do my errands and such. But nooooooo.
Hate winter.
Vince Vaughan tried to get a propguy friend of mine fired because he wouldn't even let him touch the real gun which was going to be used in a scene, even though it was unloaded. This is why.
What a meathead. (VV, that is.) Hello, potentially lethal instrument. Remember Brandon Lee? Yeesh.

Or more apt, John Eric Hexum.
Of course nobody remembers him anymore except as a cautionary tale about fucking around with the prop-guns.

The indy shoot I worked on as an AD had some scenes with firearms (none were fired on screen, just shown). There was no real prop master, just the guy who owned the guns. I was very adamant about the guns being kept in a secure room, he and the actor be the only two people to touch the guns, and he did not hand the actor the gun unless he personally showed me an empty chamber.

It's good to know that some people are. Although I'm very comfortable around guns (lots of Army training, etc.) being around people who aren't familiar with guns and said guns always makes me nervous.
Calli - we are getting more snow? It's so pretty when it falls, but such a bummer for transportation.

I also ordered him not to bring ammunition on set, which he didn't, and I still made him show me an empty chamber before he passed the weapon to the actor.
I've had some minimal experience with guns (less than I'd like, really... shooting stuff is fun), but I still know basic gun safety, and got hyper anal about it when it was an on-set issue.
Nonian, weather.com is predicting 1-2 inches of snow overnight. (~60% chance) It's supposed to start long after rush hour and be done falling by dawn tomorrow.

Sweet. The pessimist in me says Vince would have been perfectly safe because it's always the nice people who seem to die in tragic unknowingly loaded gun accidents.
