Well, personally, I kind of want to slay the dragon.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Geek Love, or Lack Thereof

Actor and Apple Computer pitchman Scott Rose is about to open a one-man show about a Mac computer geek looking for love, and blowing it.

Rose's one-hour show, Scott's Search for a Rose, details his bungled attempts at applying computer logic to the illogical business of love.

"It's a true story about my life as a Mac geek who grew up more comfortable with computers than women," said Rose. "It's a universal tale of searching for love and all the missed opportunities, mistakes and regrets.... It's a fun show."

The funniest part of the article:

At computer camp, Rose and his geek friends played Leisure Suit Larry after the counselors had gone to bed. An early adult computer game, the object was to get Larry to score. The larger the breasts, the higher the points.

"I would take Larry's pickup lines because I thought he was cool and use them in the real world," Rose said. "Of course, they would backfire."

Mekhi is still on my list.

poop sara - that sucks.

dishware for the event is now in my office and white wine is now chilling. Next up, flowers, ice and chesse (hopefully brie). Full set-up doesn't start until 4, so I think I can wait until noon to do the shopping.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

When my dad and I go to the movies or out to eat, folks assume we're a couple, which skeeves the fuck out of me. My dad looks exceptionally young. He thinks it's great and it strokes is ego that people think he's so young, while I'm having a fit of heebie jeebies across from him.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

yeah, ita, I'm sure I'll see it. It's my kind of kids-in-the-ghetto-inspired-by-passionate-mentor schtick.

Speaking of which, what's the Jaime Escalante movie? Lori works with a kid who had Escalante as a teacher and who had a character based on him.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Mekhi is still on my list.

He hasn't talked himself out of an F, anyway.

He can be on that list and still not the Rapture list.

My father and sister were offered a hotel room with one bed upon checkin once. It took her weeks for her skin to stop crawling.

He's reasonably young-looking, and she looked late 20s even though I think she was early 20s at the time.

What is even happening?

In the picture books, all of the nominees are spinach -- holocaust, segregation and vietnam war are the topics. Doesn't that scream spinach.
Maybe even liver and onions with a side of spinach.

This is what I appreciate about my son's teacher. The book he chose for his first book report this year was kind of light (I thought). I asked her if it was okay. She said, "I already know he can read. I want him to love to read, so I want him to read what he loves."
