Dana's in London. What's she gonna do to enforce the bowing amongst us bloody colonial types?

Well, she only had a minute left on her account at the Internet cafe, so there were no specifics mentioned. But she's devious, you know. Everybody thinks I'm the evil one, and yet I'm about to head out to buy West Wing DVDs so I can write her some Josh/Sam even though she's a four extra time zones away.

Possibly I'm under mind control. Although if I was under mind control, I think she wouldn't allow me to read so many comics.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Speaking of teams nobody can be bothered to care about, I've been sitting here all afternoon dying for the day to end so I can go home and collapse on the couch after helping my father move all weekend, and box seats at the Bulls game tonight just fell into my lap. Ah, well, I can collapse tomorrow night I guess.

Hellbound Equal-Opportunity Nookie Hog

Sekrit message to Hayden: Noted and appreciated. It was starting to feel a tad off, truth to tell.

ETA: And in a moment of perfect irony, iTunes just sprouted "Music and Politics."

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I was going to say -- no Boston columnist ever wrote a (bathetic, untruthful) history of the tragic Patriots. Because they aren't terribly tragic. Their winning has been good-but-not-shocking guys doing good-but-not-shocking wins in orderly fashion. (To get any dramatic reaction out of Bill Belichick, you would probably have to apply electrodes to his nuts.) I think that 4th-quarter loss to the Nobodys 2-3 weeks back got more coverage than their wins, because of the shockingness.

Also, baseball is in Boston, where it's convenient for TV cameras and half-assed columnists; baseball has a lot more games over a lot longer season; and baseball happens when it is not cold enough to die while tailgating before the game.

Although I do enjoy watching games played during and just after snow. The one where the frostbitten fans threw snow-fireworks after every touchdown in the playoffs last year was hilarious. I don't remember a thing from the game itself, just my amazement at the persistence of the fans.

OK, can someone please tell me what the movie reference in Shrek 2 is when the giant gingerbread man starts referring to himself in 3rd person as Mongo? Please!?!! It's been making me insane.

Haven't seen it, but I'm guessing Blazing Saddles?

sarameg - Jan 03, 2005 11:52:47 am PST #2543 of 10002

Huh. And yet it was familiar to me despite never having seen that movie. Weird.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

brenda has correctly answered sarameg's question.
