I was going to say -- no Boston columnist ever wrote a (bathetic, untruthful) history of the tragic Patriots. Because they aren't terribly tragic. Their winning has been good-but-not-shocking guys doing good-but-not-shocking wins in orderly fashion. (To get any dramatic reaction out of Bill Belichick, you would probably have to apply electrodes to his nuts.) I think that 4th-quarter loss to the Nobodys 2-3 weeks back got more coverage than their wins, because of the shockingness.
Also, baseball is in Boston, where it's convenient for TV cameras and half-assed columnists; baseball has a lot more games over a lot longer season; and baseball happens when it is not cold enough to die while tailgating before the game.
Although I do enjoy watching games played during and just after snow. The one where the frostbitten fans threw snow-fireworks after every touchdown in the playoffs last year was hilarious. I don't remember a thing from the game itself, just my amazement at the persistence of the fans.
