Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think that this is the thank-you thread for holiday presents (still wondering if some things mailed have arrived, myself). It works for senders and receivers, is a good place to get ideas for next year, and where you can get a warm glowy feeling in your heart for all Buffistas by reading about others' exchanges.

That's fine, but I happen to think that it's nice to write a little note. I love to get unexpected personal mail.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I think the mail is being exceptionally slow this year.

signed, paranoid my secret santa forgot me, but trying to fight paranoia by blaming the USPS

Oh good, I'm not the only person feeling paranoid about that. Well, not good because I would rather no one else has those thoughts, but it's kind of reassuring to not be the only one.

I keep meaning to write some sort of '2004 in JilliLand' thing, but all I manage to write is 'Meh. One step forward, two steps back, and I hate being told to be patient' before I get exasperated and stop writing.

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

EEEEE! Thank you, Theodosia!

Yesterday a big box arrived, filled with way too many presents for one person. There are bath salts and (my first ever) Lush bath bomb and an Anne Taintor notebook - how did she know I needed a new notebook, and I love Anne Taintor? - and books and a CD mix (with Headstones music!) and more. I don't know who is more fascinated by the wooden toy, the Blue-Eyed Boy or Dan. (Nora just wants to chew on it.) It's a tough call, but I think what most Buffistas would lust over the most is the desk calendar with fabulous illustrations and every day marked by a fictional event.

Seriously, you were far too generous. That doesn't mean I'm giving any of it back, of course. ::clutches gifts tightly::

P.S. keep in mind that I'm happy to act as a go-between, if any of you want to send a message to your secret giftee or santa.

Always Anti-fascist!

This seems like a good place to tell Ginger I got her nice card. Thanks, Ginger.

Thrive to spite them

Um, due to unforseen money situations I had to postpone sending my gift. So I'm going to send it out with something special.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Since my secret santee will finally be getting a package in the mail in a few days, I have now opened my own package and will be luxuriating in a Lush bath tonight. Whee! Thanks so much to DebetEsse (I'm guessing from the address)! And that spicy soap smells marvelous, too.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yay! I'm glad you like.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Dani, I'm so glad you liked it! I thought that "a little bit of this 'n that" might at least produce some good hits. :-)
