OK, if this beginning to the new year is anything to go, I may have rather more fun in 2005 than I did in 2004.
I stopped at Neiman Marcus and bought seven little ballotins of Godiva chocolate (for the film crew - if there are more than seven, I'm hosed) and three pretty rather larger wrapped chocs for David, Graham (the hair consultant who will be arriving for this Monday morning insanity at shortly past three on Monday morning). I have sat in a posh salon, having my hair and my pantry amenities discussed, as awed customers whispered and said "television!" "Evangelista - he was on television last night!"
This is funny as hell, and so far, I'm enjoying 2005.
... Evangelista ...
still snickering. I'd be such a wretched posh person.
Dude. Just got an email from the producer. Nordstrom would like to treat me to a manicure and a facial on Sunday.
This is so cool.
edit: Connie, I think he's related to Linda Evangelista, the supermodel with the eyebrows. Actually kind of a cool name.
Oh, I'm sure it's cool and all that (never heard of the supermodel, sorry), but--well, I'm waiting for Carson to come flouncing out of nowhere, waving his hand and saying, "Now, *this* suit is from the collection of Mr. Evangelista, and you'll love it."
Sorry.
I'll go back to my snickering ill-mannered corner, now.
snerk
Yeah, well, me too.
It's a little fabulous, hmm?
Somebody please make my brain stop with the earworm of "If you like pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain," Etc. I don't even know where I got it. CG is right. My brain is scary.
Seriously, some of the first songs I ever learned:
that one.
"Margaritaville"
"Me and Mrs. Jones"
No wonder my life resists all things average.
I just got back home after three weeks and I have to say that AmyLiz is the greatest and most patient Secret Santa ever. My poor present has been here for almost three weeks and now that I finally opened it, I'm lavishing it with love.
I have an awesome Christmas CD that I'm loading on my iPod now, and a beautiful copy of Jo's Boys (Louise May Alcott). I'm actually pretty excited about reading it because I loved Little Women, but I've never read any of her other works.
ETA: Oh, and I just opened all my Christmas cards. Thanks, Sail, for such a beautiful card!
never heard of the supermodel, sorry
Heh. Only reason I know about her is because she was on Letterman or Leno or someone a few years ago, and I kept blinking at her eyebrows.
yes, yes, it got here! I am writing the thank you note today! I swear!
I
think
that this is the thank-you thread for holiday presents (still wondering if some things mailed have arrived, myself). It works for senders and receivers, is a good place to get ideas for next year, and where you can get a warm glowy feeling in your heart for all Buffistas by reading about others' exchanges.
