Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Aw, Bastet is the cutest! Toto is the cutest! Val is the cutest! Emily is the cutest!

I'm overwhelmed with all the cute.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

OK, those are some happy-making pictures, VW. Bastet and Toto are cracking me up. The dog's all "Doood! Soft bed and hat and people crooning my name! Wheeeeeeee!" and the cat's all "ahhhhhhhhhh, sunlight and the smell of pine. Is there any Dom Perignon?"

Mostly lurking...

Yeah, I really love those pictures. It's kind of funny, but the pet stuff is often my favorite part of Christmas.

Ever since I got Toto (six years ago now! Wow! Time flies!), he's been treated like a member of the family. He (and now my parents' dog and my bro and SIL's tow cats) has a stocking and get spoiled with MANY presents at Christmas. He's so funny. We start off Christmas morning with the dogs opening their stockings (they get to go first, 'cause they're the youngest). From there on out, Toto thinks every present is for him. As a matter of fact, Emily got a couple of boxes of presents today, and Toto was all about trying to get at them to open them. It's hysterical.

Always Anti-fascist!

So happy. Got Mom's gift...autographed "The Wire" companion book, with photos of the gorgeous McNulty, Stringer, and Detective Kima.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My SS gift(s) have been sent off! My revel in my virtue and my joy in my cleverness at picking them out is only balanced out by my guilt at the lateness.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Theo, mine isn't going out until Monday. Kara has now stolen two parts of it. If I don't find them by the time the post office opens on Monday, I'll replace them with something else. It's very frustrating. I haven't found them anywhere, but I'm cleaning like a crazy woman today, so I'm hoping they'll show up.

If I only had a brain...

Whoo! I got Santa'd even though I didn't sign up!

The lovely and kindly Katerina Bee sent me a beautiful sachet with a perfectly spherical lapis bead sewed to it; she says that lapis is good for migraines. I can't place the sachet scent, but it's lovely and light.

And there was a nice friendly letter with it. Thanks so much, Katerina.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I just picked up my mail from vacation hold, and found a beautiful SailAweigh card, and a lovely plush reindeer for Annabel from Ginger! Thanks, y'all.

As a preliminary 2004 in review, here's our Christmas letter: [link]

Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

I went to the P.O for the first time in weeks today, and waiting for me was Hec's Chistmukah mix CD! Complete with Princess Bride reference on the envelope. Big smushy kiss and hug for you!

2004, another rebuilding year for Team Kate. Finally faced my financial failures. Finally stood up to the insanity at work. Finally got to the breakthrough I needed in therapy. Not by coincidence, was diagnosed and began treatment for adult ADD.

2005 will see the consequences of all of this; I know my work on each is far from over. I'm looking forward to it, though. I'm slowly realizing that I'm worth fighting for.

I'm only sorry that all this life-changing stuff has kept me from playing with my online friends. B.org is always such a wonderful place to indulge myself whenever I have some time.

I wish all Buffistas a peaceful and happy New Year.

Grr. I ordered (part) of my SS gift on ebay, and it still isn't here. Hmph. I just emailed the person to say "have you shipped this yet??". Since I paypal'd for it immediately.
